why wouldn't the mechanics get the neural implant/socket thing? imagine seeing your crew mates having fun in crazy training simulations and instantly learning to pilot helicopters and shit, and never wanting to try it out.

I get that, but that sounds more like something for the audience's sake so we understand that they were born and bred in the real world. Still doesn't make much sense when it's so convenient that you can learn skills instantly, and so many of their systems are tied to some sort of virtual reality.

The Oracle wanted this version of Neo to break the cycle of choosing to return to the Source so she tries to use Love to see what he’ll do. The Oracle then tells Neo and Trinity what they need to hear to fall in love with each other.

are you simple? the first part of the movie is Trinity and Cipher on a phone call with eachother talking about how they've been watching Neo for a while, and Cipher implies that Trinity has fallen for him while they have been stalking him.

They don't. It is symbolic. It is self love. Just as biblical interpretation is just justification of ones own personal belief. Each little church is a cell. An echo chamber for the leaders personal beliefs to be banged into the heads of the followers. And they pay for the privilege.
