The frustrating attempt about Aquamans visual is, is that there's obviously an attempt made to honor Snyder's grandiose, operatic, painterly approach to the genre while still going for something brighter and more colourful, pushing it away visuals inspired by classical painting and into more of a pulpy "pagan myths by the way of 70s Hair Metal" direction. And you can kinda see how that might work in theory but the result looks way too gaudy.
