All I want is a good female lead. Captain Marvel sucks and Rey in Star Wars sucks. I am probably the only one who liked Scarjo's character in Ghost in the Shell, Jyn in Rogue One and Alicia in the latest Tomb Raider. Those characters had proper goals unlike Rey and Captain Marvel. Jyn and Lara had their father's backstory whilst Scarjo had her discovering her past and who she really was (not comparing it to the anime but as a standalone). Haven't seen ALITA so not sure how her character is but I am more after the "vulnerable" female leads and not the overpowered ones.
With Captain Marvel doing half a billion already, it looks like decent female leads are off the table now and the future is dark. Or maybe I just need to get over that modern day capeshit is not for me anymore.
