Strange things about CM

Why was Captain America never mentioned? I can buy Fury not being aware of Pym but his line at the end about them "stumbling upon someone like HER" makes no sense in a world where Captain America has a museum exhibit.

Was it all just to avoid having characters tell Carrol how she is JUST like Cap?

Dude they don't know what they're doing. Just go with it

And what was the point of the 90s references? They have no meaning for a character that has been gone from earth since the 80s. At one point they play no doubt during her fight scene in space, which feels very random in the context of the character and scene. I get that the movie takes place in the 90s but the music choices just made me think that the directors had no idea what they were doing.

Captain America was the only one, and he was just really strong and as far as they knew, dead as fuck. SHIELD literally only exists because of Captain America, so of course he knew about Cap. He just knew he was dead and no one had the formula. Hell, we see in Avengers quick flashback they're shocked he's alive when excavating his body.

All anyone knew until he came back was the shit from his USO show and his war movies, which just showed him lifting motorcycles over his head.

Also I think the directors failed to give the "never give up" message weight. At no point in the film does it look like giving up is a necessary or viable choice for Danvers, of course she always keeps going when she is invincible. Even that dumb scene in bootcamp would have been better if she ended up in the infirmary after the fall, maybe displaying some genuine vulnerability, instead of getting up right away.

And the final confrontation with Jude Law just makes Carrol seem petulant. If she had nothing to prove, why even blast him? For comic effect? Law already sold the comedy with his transparent attempt to coax her into a fight on his own terms.

That nigger was still in ice

They play no scrubs on the radio during a scene but that song didnt come out until 1999 and this movie takes place in 1996...

Full plot, it was unbelievably bad

>One of the highlights at my career at Marvel was introducing her at Comic-Con and having her coming out on stage and stand there with literally almost every thing else from our universe, and there she was at the forefront, and it was a great foreshadowing of not just for how audiences are going to embrace Brie as this character, but also for how Captain Marvel is about to take the lead and be at the forefront of the entire Cinematic Universe. ~Kevin Feige

She quite literally has be sucking Feige's dick on the side. Or has some serious dirt on him.
Because that's some next level shilling.

>Strange things about CM
The whole movie was a train-wreck, but this scene truly fucked Marvel permanently, just like how TLJ permanently fucked Star Wars...
Looking through Brie's case files, Fury sees her Air Force call sign was "Avenger"

So, to honor her, he names his new project the "Avenger Initiative".

So, the Avengers were named after Brie Larson, the true first Avenger.

>Skrees and skrulls
Doctor suess level shit

How dumb are you? That's like saying if a CEO names a company after someone he/she's met before then that person is the first employee.

Honestly this could be good if in Endgame there is a conflict between her and the avengers team, like they want to take a careful approach to bringing everyone back while she wants to just go punch Thanos. However CM showed that the producers lack all awarenes of how Carrol comes off as brash and lacking restraint.

Captain America was a fucking actual clown for most of his career in the MCU
>Carrol is just like Steve
what the fuck is wrong with you

Stfu

She goes super sayan in Avengers.

I'm talking about a point in time when he was the only known hero in the mcu, so he would be the only one they could compare her to. You know like "you're a superhuman just like cap from those collectible cards". Just think about it.

I didn't watch new Tomb Raider but even the trailer was fucking retarded. Now this shit. And after all this garbage they let that cunt write 3rd Sherlock Holmes instead of euthanizing her.

unfortunately, none of it is made up. if anything, reading it makes it seem better than it was seeing it

How's Jude Law's hair holding up?

The worst thing is that it could have been good. If they had Carrol show some insecurity, maybe made Fury the mentor she needs instead of comic relief, showed some brutality from the Skrulls that might make her face an actual dilemma. The film is a confused series of missed opprotunities.

I don't care that Feige's a Jew. I care that Danver's is supposed to lead the MCU. You can't lead, if no one follows. When do we find out 'Oscar winning' Brie was JLaw to some Disney exec's Weinstein?

In one scene she's witty and sarcastic in the other she's stone cold and stoic. We can't pin down what type of character she's supposed to because the movie can't decide either.

supposed to be*

>she's witty
I must of missed that

it had some inaccuracy about Fury fighting with Talos right where they were examining the Skrull's corpse (they actually fought in archives in secret lab), but everything else is absolutely legit.

almost every scene with fury

Hebrew hands typed this. No one can be this NPC'd.

I think in her Kree moments (especially with Law) in prologue she was also witty and sarcastic

>maybe made Fury the mentor she needs instead of comic relief
This
Seeing how she wasn't on good terms with her father I was expecting Fury to take up the proper father figure which I think would have been more effective in solidifying their relationship. Instead he's made out to be sort of a goof while she's the calm and collected one.

What's worse is that forcing him into comic relief also goes against the logic of the film. Like when they are sneaking through the hidden base how does he not scold her for making a ruccus blasting locks of doors? It's like they were deliberately trying to avoid presenting her actions as a mistake.

Same, I thought he was doing the tape method because it's quiet and leaves no sign of breakage so I was assuming he told her off screen not to use her powers as to not alert people/leave marks, and I was confused when she broke open the second door, like how can he say "why didn't you do that on the first door?" when he clearly knows she can shoot beams as she demonstrated at the bar.

>a soldier on steroids is exactly the same as a woman who can fly through space and shoot lasers out her fists

Would've even been a good signature SLJ moment having him yell how he's had enough of her blasting everything. Now when I think about it, for a fish out of water story there are very few jokes making fun of Carrol's behaviour.

>when all of the cosplayers look better than you

A black man being anything related to a father would be harder to believe

They missed a huge oppurtunity with Fury. They could've made him like a mentor figure to Carol as opposed to the false mentor Jude Law's character turned out to be. Instead they made him into the comic relief.

That would be mansplaing

man americans look weird

Do you think all those young women hate men too?

...

Pacific Rim did it

How about the fact that Captain Marvel has been roaming the galaxy for twenty years, but there was somehow a madman out there half-genociding planets that whole time? Ronan knew about Thanos. Are you going to try to tell me that Captain Fungus was never asked to stop him?

Cap was manmade, though.

Pacific Rim was good.
Captain Marvel isn’t.

It angers me that they made her own dad an asshole, thereby giving her daddy issues, then play that off a strength instead of a weakness.

I think Feige is a people pleaser who has a weakness for passive aggressive behaviour, we saw that with Amy Pascal, where he allowed her to spout shit right in front of him as he sat awkwardly.

Urg, so many jewesses

But if Fury were the surrogate dad, it would make Carol dependent in some way on a man, and we can't have that.

i get baby blood transfusion vibes from the guy on the left

How dumb are you
>fury wants to find more heroes like Carol
>sees a pic where Carol’s nickname is revealed to be “Avenger”
>renames his program of finding more people like Carol “the Avengers initiative”
>Carol is on retainer to help Earth when necessary.
>in the mean time Fury will look for others to also help like she can
>he will name all the subsequent people avengers
what the fuck would she be then? If not an avenger?

What’s interesting about this is is it paints the movie as utter garbage 100% of the way but it was only like 83% bad and yet it leaves out the part where Ronin shows up and dumps a bunch of Alien Nukes towards earth because reasons(??) and Captain Marvel dispatches of them right away and goes back to the main fight. And Ronin goes “huh m, dayum girl impressive”

Cheap prostitutes line up to be sold in a Libyan slave bazaar - 2019, colorized

Why did brie bitched at jackson for calling for backup with his beeper? She treated him like a little child. Then, when she calls the kree, and all hell break loose, nobody bitches at her.

Weren’t they the Avengers because of Coulson dying? I mean, I always thought that was a bit tenuous as they didn’t seem to know him all that well, but I’m sure I heard that multiple times as the official reason for the name.

I think Coulson mentions the avengers initiative in iron man 2 or something.

Fury mentions it all the way back in the first post credits scene in IM1

In the comic, her flight name is "Cheeseburger"

>how come there hasn’t been a dark plot where Hydra secretly stole his blood during the excavation/revival and used it to recreate Red Skull?

Cap couldn't do magical shit. He was just guy on steroids

These are all true

I'm pretty sure the Red Sull will be in the aftercredit of Endgame. They bring back the people Thanos snapped, but also bring back a few dead characters like Red Skull accidentally.

There's a webm floating around of the brain scan scene with all of the mean evil men telling her that she sucks, so that part is 100% real at least

Everything can be made to sound retarded when you just word it a certain way in text

FUUUUUUUUUck that movie and it's shit writers.

What is it with Marvel trying to force this character so much?

If your'e in a public setting in front of a camera, what are you going to do but sit there awkwardly retard?
Of course if you're an incel you'd think sperging out is appropriate behaviour
