She realized that going to Zalem was impossible after she asks Vector what did he offer to Hugo. Also, it’s kinda implied that she saw her daughter in Alita when she wipes her tears just like Ido (also because of them sharing the same name) and realizes that the reason she was in and got kicked out of Zalem was because of the Chiren x OGAlita x Ido relationship (that’s why she says the mother line).
Something funny is that in the first viewing, my gf loved Hugo, now she Hates him because he’s “and ungrateful guy that didn’t do shit for Alita while she did everything for him”.

I think they don't because at that point Ido stopped substituting Alita for his daughter and came to terms with his loss and Alita got the Berserker body afterwards, which reflected who she really was unlike the first body.
Loss of the original body was basically both of them going through a lot of personal growth.

They had the Alita Experience, China and Asia's marketing, the Superbowl ad, some TV spots, trailers, social media, stuff like the art book and other books, obvious CD, and maybe the Dua Lupa song. Add in the hot toy, Funko stuff, and standard merch like the shirts and posters. I really can't think of much else beyond that. I barely saw any marketing anywhere I went, and I Iive in a very populated area of Florida.

There is no way they spent even close to that on marketing, apart from pre-release trailers there was almost no publicity for this that I can recall.
I think Fox just pushed it out because they had contractual commitments with Cameron and are honestly shocked that it's become something of a sleeper hit on the eve of the disney sale finalizing.

Marketing budgets are out of control these days. It's one of the reasons why John Carter was such a catastrophe. Disney put such a massive push behind it that it was basically impossible for the film to ever make money.
As a result, it's hard for smaller, lesser known properties like our girl Alita, or god forbid an original ip, to get a release because studios are unwilling to spend money on something that isn't a proven commodity like capeshit.
