That was without a doubt, not only one of the best solo mcu films but one of the best mcu films in general. Brie’s performance was fantastic and the chemistry she had with Samuel L Jackson was so natural, it was great. Great visuals, great action scenes. The humour was perfectly timed and placed. The Skrulls were great in this film. Not what I expected but a nice change of pace. Brilliant set up endgame and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Truly was one of my favourite mcu films. 9/10 and I only gave it nine because there wasn’t enough Coulson.

Just a thought that I haven't posted but I really enjoyed that for once a cyberpunk movie wasn't completely set in a thunderstorm. The bright sunshine and nice evening settings like when hugo takes alita up on the church were maximum comfy. Honestly this movie should've come out in the summer. I think it could've held it's own.

Well first and foremost: It was satisfying as fuck. From the first fight when she was protecting Ido, I was in my seat with absolute glee watching her kick absolute ass. Alita herself was endearing as all hell, and really grew on me. One thing I loved is that every fight had a purpose to it, even the most meaningless one, which I'd saw was the bar fight. Even then it established something, as well as being a fun scene. All the battles were, every one just unique and fun to watch. You rooted for her the whole way through. Storywise, it took me a bit to get used to the pacing at the beginning. It was weird to be just dropped into this world I know nothing about along with a clueless protagonist, but I got used to it. I loved how the story kept adding more and more, but it all felt well paced, and felt like a good amount of time was spent on each part without it ever feeling like it dragged or went on for too long. Now knowing that it was based off of a manga makes a lot of sense. I really liked how things didn't happen because of Alita appearing, but because Alita took the initiative herself to get the ball rolling. It was all dependent on Alita's character, not on just the fact that she's the new guy on the block. The story was fun to watch unravel, and there are probably some things I missed that I'll catch after rewatching, but it was all comprehensive and moved smoothly. I didn't expect to get so emotionally invested, especially around the end. I genuinely felt attached to what was happening. There's only a few real issues that come to mind. There were two scenes where the way the camera cut felt jarring, other than that, editing job was great. The time to process Hugo's death was too short, especially considering the movie was right near it's end, but the way they transitioned it to the ending scene was pretty great, so I forgive it.
