I don't know anything about climbing can someone explain to me how big of an achievement this actually was?

>guy practices a bajillion times with ropes
>does it without ropes one day, big whoop
if you have to practice, you're not actually talented
He's such a climbing autist that it was easy for him. It wasn't an achievement at all.
>in de bioscoop
Hasn't he free solo'd thousands of climbs but never one as big as El Capitain in Yosemite?
Looks like a crazy good achievement to me. 3200ft in ~4hrs with crazy scary holds.
What a retarded statement. Do you think talented athletes never practice? Shut your mouth.

He was just the first person to solo climb that face of the rock. There are multiple people setting these kinds of records throughout the year. A week from now somebody could be the first to solo some rock in Utah. A week later somebody might do a climb in a record time. They're all impressive but none of them are groundbreaking in such a way that could transform the sport.
Nobody thought it was impossible for him but at the same time it's russian roulett and one day he will die doing this
True incel mindset. Literally every successful person trained their asses off 24/7 for years to hone their talents. And all the stories you hear about child prodigies are still the result of years of training, they just started young.
>if you have to practice, you're not actually talented
>this is what losers actually believe
>4hrs with crazy scary holds
The mountainside is full of big convenient cracks and there are only a few spots with really scary holds like "the boulder problem" which he honestly was lucky to get through considering how many times he slipped there during practice.
I can tell you haven't climbed a thing in your life.
>if you have to practice, you're not actually talented
Jesus christ, I think this is honestly the most retarded thing I've heard all year.
this is the guy who practiced for a week making music, art, film, writing and then gave up because he didn't have natural talent (aka skill people spent thousands of hours doing)
k
t. assmad anons coping with the fact they don't have any talents
Tard.
Pretty fuckin amazing. Certain sections were truly terrifying to watch him climb without a rope. Just boggles the mind.
Legitimately one of the greatest athletic feats in recorded human history.
Lol my bad OP. You know who i meant.
inb4 magic sticky powder and grippy shoes
>Legitimately one of the greatest athletic feats in recorded human history.
It’s up there with the greats
are human feet shit for rock climbing? honest question
the first section "basalt" something was full of hammered in "artificial" holes, im pretty sure that is not allowed
>if you have to practice, you're not actually talented
>if you have to practice, you're not actually talented
>if you have to practice, you're not actually talented
His free solo route is a hiking trail. Does that put it in perspective for you?
Why do you keep being intentionally deceitful? This is worse than the (((jews))) you so criticize, at least they do it for money. You're doing it for free
Imagine going up there with all this gear and some random dude with nothing just strolls on by
What do you mean mate? I'm the only helpful one on this thread.
