Why didn't First Man win best picture ?
Why didn't First Man win best picture ?
oscars are gay
Despite it being about one of man's greatest accomplishments, it focused on white people too much. It was pushed out of the running because a fictitious African superhero was more realistic as a commentary about today.
>First Man not First Human.
thats why.
It wasn't good enough for the Academy, which as it turns out doesn't mean a whole lot anymore. It may be worth debating if it ever meant something.
On a semi-related note, I say we give Spielberg his wish. Let VOD-produced films be exempt from nominations.
Nobody needs the Oscars except people who want validation from people unworthy of providing it. Nobody needs the Oscars. Nobody wants the Oscars.
Let it die, or continue to eke out an existence with its checklist of requirements, not the least of which having anything to do with filmmaking.
Do you know why I enjoyed First Man? Because it was a fucking great movie made by a consistently great duo.
Do you know why I enjoyed 12 Years A Slave?
I'll give you a hint: It has nothing to do with the fact that the Academy having finally recognized a black director because he did a slave movie.
>dude a reflexive surface lmao so poetic
It wasn't a particularly good movie.
Granted neither were the other best picture nominees aside from The Favorite, but still.
Why do you even know or care which films won oscars?
normies are bored by movies about the real space program with the exception of fantasy movies like "hidden figures". Everybody knows the astronauts didn't die and there is very little new that can be said about the 60s space program.
it was accidentally entered into "best documentary" when it belonged in "best fiction"
Why didn't it win for best score?
Black Panther won it with the most generic score I've ever heard
No merica flag
>reflexive
A black man or a woman wasn't the first human on the moon therefore it forfeits any hope of winning an Oscar.
>tfw people on reddit say the film was boring or shit
Who the fuck are these idiots.
It didnt get enough votes, op.
It’s a badly acted crappy film with good special effects
This is probably the most baffling thing, and I like Ludwig, at least as a producer.
I mean fuck, the Creed II score was better.
the movie disgraced americans by having a canadian star in it.
will no one check this?
Because it's not a twitter oriented flick, it's an actual film.
Because the original moon landing already did.
because ROMA was much better
it did make me reflect on my position in the universe

>I step.
fpbp
really makes me think
>i drive
>i'm alive
>i nosedive
>First Man
>Not First of Peoplekind
I think not.
fpbp
checked
etc
I guess after Chazelle and Barry Jeknins both won Oscars they decided to ignore them entirely this year
damien chazelle is completely hated by the industry, he's easily the most talented young director alive (jordan peele is a close second imo), i guess he just makes them look like shit in comparison. after La La Land got so much negative press I think they decided to soft separate from him
