The logic is the fox insider had to say something that was at least partially true. If he gets a number like 500m cited at him as the break even, and it is false, it is in his best interests to say something true, but that also sounds good. He could've just said the break even was around 420m, but that's like saying you're not fat because your waist is only 42 inches, not 50. But if you say your waist (break even) is closer to 35 (350), it sounds a lot better, and less like desperate cope.

It was making over 2 million every day until CM hit the theaters on Thursday and took a fuckload of screens from it and other movies, and then it started making little under 2 million. Made 15 million throughout the week. It's going to make 5-7 million next week unless CM starts tanking so bad that theaters decide to put Alita back on and it starts earning even more cash, which is possible because CM is getting some really toxic reception there.

Sounds like through April 21 in China. Maybe it'll still be sticking around in a few theaters that long in the US but probably will be down to around 200-300 locations by the end of March if it keeps shedding around 700 theaters each weekend.

Jim Boatman is personally invested in seeing this project finished, and he's a billionaire, so just the fact that it didn't crash and burn is honestly probably enough for us to get a trilogy of Our Girl. He owns the movie rights to the IP so I'm sure every extra buck will hasten his hand in writing those contracts.

What I want more than sequels though is an extended cut so that the movie doesn't feel so squeezed and cramped for time.
