Anyway, still interested in this. Get Out was funny until it became a generic "escape the house filled with bad guys" horror flick. This looks like Peele's dropped the humor in favor of making the horror actually "good"

Name a reason why Peele is genuinely a shitty filmmaker that has nothing to do with “muh racism” (which by the way, is a moot point since this movie allegedly has nothing to do with race relations).
I mean, the people claiming “HES THE NEXT HITCHCOCK” are fucking retarded, but I’d say that he’s one of the better auteurs in his bracket of notoriety, even if that honestly isn’t saying much.

Get Out was a ripoff of Skeleton Key. This one is pretty good though.

I didn't care about the Skeleton Key stuff, I liked the jokes with the dad saying he'd vote for Obama a third time, and other things that made the main guy feel uncomfortable for being around soi wh*toids worshiping him for being black. The same people saw the film in droves, either unaware of being made fun of, or nodding respectfully toward Peele for movin' on up

i did read the post. horror movies are pretty simple. There are basically three types of horror. Scifi, occult, and psychological. And there are two ways you can go about doing horror. The conservative (order is restored in the end) or liberal (order is not restored, its the apocalypse bitch) way

Look at someone like panos cosmatos. He only stands out because he seems to understand the concept of aesthetics.

she didn't play bloody mary. she was lost on the beach, went to mirror house and saw her doppelganger which traumatized her. so doppelganger existed already and the third act is dedicated to exposition about doppelgenger's background, which some critics though jumped the shark. I'm just sayin that reviews revealed enough for that "leak" not to line up
