Paramount Pictures 4th Star Trek film is dead forever, they are instead working to fully reboot the whole Star Trek franchise with a new actor in the role of James T. Kirk and whole new cast of actors. This hard reboot will re-tell the story of the original series in a whole new way.Their plan goes like this, reboot the films into a new trilogy with TOS characters recast and make tie in tv shows where these actors will appear too. This will be the first hard reboot Star Trek has as the 2009 reboot involved time travel making conexions with the original series.
Star Trek HARD reboot
>reboot
again?
Ay
What's the point? They could just take it and do something else with it. Set it in another time. Do a different story. There's more captains that just Kirk and there's more ships than just the Enterprise. Hell, you could easily do a story that doesn't revolve around the Federation and just follows a bunch of traders who fly around the universe trying to make money (post-scarcity only applies in TNG and beyond).
remember kirk
remember spock
Why not just come up with a new IP?
What could they do?
jesus christ just make a NEW fucking story, they can't help shitting on cannon
>reboot
>but let's keep kirk anyway
why do they keep rebooting this shit? no matter how they go about it, the autistic fanbase will just keep screeching. and normalfags just aren't that interested, shown by JJ trek's failure. it's a waste of everyone's time tbqh
Who should play him?
>oh no muh cannon!
It will not erase the old ones, they will still exist and you can still watch it and just ignore the new things like any normal person would do. Even if they would do a NEW fucking story it would suck too.
We had everything, the next logical choice is a diverse-gender-fluid.
forget mccoy
Who? Do you mean Scotty? "Beam up, Scotty!"
Nooooo
In a post-Voyager universe they could even discover a way to travel to other galaxies and you could probably make at least one season covering one ship's voyage to Andromeda to establish a base from which to explore the rest of that galaxy. A whole new frontier!
It's numbers and money, kids. You have a $100m pile of money. What's the best and surest way to turn it into $500m? Sure, you could be original and creative and take risks and spin the Star Trek franchise in an entirely new direction. Or you could just member-berries it up with Kirk and Spock and Lieutenant Uhuru and see a guaranteed return.
The movie industry is, at the end of the day, an industry. Sure, it is based on storytelling and theatre, forms of art that are as old as civilization itself. But it is full of companies that have salaried employees and managers and HR departments and pension funds. They need to crank out what works and take as little risk as possible.
But I don't even pay for reboots. No Kino, no Amazon & co, no dvd or blue ray.
Where do they get money? Zoomers??
Who will play Uhura? Hopefully a atractive lady
>Hopefully a atractive lady
Uhura bleached, confirmed!
Do you have any source on this?
Reboots are cheaper to make than new stuff and Paramount is owned by Viacom so they have money because Viacom are one of the biggest companies like Comcast and Turner.
space hamsters
Noooooo
GOOD. Let it be successful. I don't care, but I just need DS9 remastered in HD. Crap like STD isn't capturing interest, so if rebooting a KINO Captain and concept like TOS brings fans and money pouring in, that's the only hope DS9 has. TNG was remastered in the wake of the JJTrek resurgence, so hopefully another reboot will save DS9 from being blurryTrek forever.
If CBS/Paramount had any brains they would permanently upgrade the remaining 2 shows (DS9 and Voyager) into HD and make a KinoTrek channel or streaming service. I no longer give a fuck what they do with future versions.
Kino
paramount wants to pay cbs more money to liscence a new franchise, even though cbs is still running with the bad robot contract with STD (under a new company name for kurtzman). why not just wait until the cbs/paramount remerger happens like they're planning on?
𓂺
The romance between Spock and Uhura was obnoxious in so many ways. The entire reboot now is just poison in my veins.
I think all of this will happen after the merger but planning is important.
No.
You mean Tribbles?
No.
PotAxST crossover movie when?
Woah
Source: ASS
Now fuck off
>conexions
Verily sir, art thou from the 16th century
They've only explored a small quantity of this galaxy. Going to another one is stupid. You gotta finish what's on your plate
Ouf coursh not
Its gonna be kino please cast idris elba as kirk
WHY THE FUCK DOES IT HAVE TO BE THE SERIES CHARACTERS? DO SOMETHING NEW, YOU DERIVATIVE FUCKS.
I'm ready for black Kirk
Me too and my wife too
is trans-white okay?
JAMAL TYRONE KIRK
>What's the point? They could just take it and do something else with it. Set it in another time. Do a different story. There's more captains that just Kirk and there's more ships than just the Enterprise.
This exactly. Trek universe is GIGANTIC and you have literal centuries of stuff you could do. STD didn't flop because it was new, it flopped because it wasn't loyal to the spirit of the series.
I've only watched half of the first season of the original but this reminds me of WW2 documentaries. Instead of exploring something new there's 800 different productions on the Normandy beach landing.
