Well, Yea Forums? What are your unpopular opinions about the hit TV show "The Simpsons"?
Well, Yea Forums? What are your unpopular opinions about the hit TV show "The Simpsons"?
I thought it was formerly good but know it fucking sucks
Chuck>Sneed
my favourite simpsons was the time homer tried to jump the gorg
Principal and the Pauper is a really good episode.
They've tried too hard to be centrist in the Trump era, which just makes it seem like they support 45 secretly but are too scared to admit it.
The Principal and the Pauper is singled out too much as the decline of the Simpsons by e-celebs. There's other episodes that signaled the decline better like
>When you dish upon a star
>Kidney trouble
>Monty can't buy me love
>Saddlesore galactica
>Kill the alligator and run
>Alone again natura-diddily
>Homer vs dignity
Why don't Youtube celebs ever mention these episodes?
Remove kidney trouble and you're not wrong.
Seems like this board and the general public hates for some reasons the seasons that are right after the "Golden Age" of the simpsons, the post season 10 Simpsons
Personally, I like very much all seasons that went before HD. The Early 2000s seasons are really good in my opinion. Plus, next to the HD seasons they look like they were made by Orson Welles. Yea Forums seems to really hate the early 2000s seasons
But kidney trouble isn't good. It's a prime example of "jerkass homer", as he caused abe's kidneys to explode and abandoned him to die.
Lisa is now funny
Cringe
>When you dish upon a star
even as a kid i knew there was something wrong with this episode
I was watching Homer Badman yesterday and it's funny, the writers kind of painted what Homer goes through as a parody of the oversimplification of sexual harassment issues and how public opinion is quick to judge without evidence, they'd rather take the women's word for it and leave it there. It's actually pretty tame compared to what happens to guys in Homers boat in this day and age.
It was formerly better for men
Kidney trouble is shit
Moe BTFO
Formerly based
>Seymour's backstory is really not that important, principal and the pauper didn't ruin shit
>No episode from season 1 is good
>Every single THOH is instantly trash, I don't watch the show for fantasy stories
>Even though the show started to go downhill after season 9 it was still decent until the movie
>Disney could actually improve the show, I have no doubt that they're gonna breathe new life into it
Early simpsons honestly isn't that good aside from some episodes
Like I just re-watched Marge vs the Monorail and it's literally a nothing episode
The same with Mr.Plow
It's literally
>Homer does looks for a car/finds the plow/barnie shoots his tires/he goes to save barnie
It's lame
Whilst episodes like Kamp Krusty are some of the best tv I've seen
Honestly Simpsons isn't a very good show
Futurama is vastly superior and pre-homosexual south park blows both out of the water
Very based
The Call of the Simpsons
Season 1 is trash
Season 2 is better
Season 3-6 is the golden age
Season 7 feels like the cracks are showing
Season 8 those cracks were being patched by "le random" humour
Season 9-11 feel like a different show
Season 12 onwards feels like a show going through the motions
The Chuck of the Sneedsons
Futurama is shit, most of its humour is derived from references
Futurama was okay until it becomes literally "dude what if modern day stuff but in the future lmao", the prevalence of these kinds of episodes really fucked it up
>Every single THOH is instantly trash,
Holy pleb opinion
formerly okay
>pre-homosexual south park blows both out of the water
this i can agree with but your opinion on early simpsons is markedly a pleb one
Sneed
I've been rewatching it this past month and there's honestly more episodes that feel like padding more than having any sort of impact or teaching some sort of lesson
New Kid on the Block is a good example of this where it showcases both sides
Whilst the "all you can eat" storyline is remarkable, funny, and interesting as well as making a social commentary on the system of lawsuits that prevail in America
Whilst the complete opposite of all of thes characteristics are shown in the side love storyline with bart and the new neighbor is incredibly forced since Bart had previously told Milhouse just a couple of episodes before that he has no interest in girls and the fact that all of the build up which was neither funny or interesting led to the emasculation of Jimbo Jones
You don't learn anything
Bart isn't changed
There's nothing funny about it
And the character is written off never to be seen again
It's a nothing burger
Which is the case for a lot of simpsons episodes since they fall to the later category more than the former
Damn, I've heard of controversial opinions but this takes the cake.
have sneed inchuck
It was never really good we were just young and are playing a nostalgia trip when we see episodes from our formative years. As someone pointed out earlier the iconic episodes can be a bit thin also.
>Seymour's backstory is really not that important, principal and the pauper didn't ruin shit
Come on now, his backstory is an essential part of the character and it's what made most of his jokes work. If he was never a war veteran then gags like that one bit from I Love Lisa wouldn't make sense.
>No episode from season 1 is good
Homer's Odyssey, The Call of the Simpsons and Krusty Gets Busted are all kino you pleb.
>Every single THOH is instantly trash, I don't watch the show for fantasy stories
Unbelievable, imagine being such an autist that you don't allow yourself to like THOH for not being realistic enough.
>Even though the show started to go downhill after season 9 it was still decent until the movie
Compare a season 18 episode to a season 5 episode and say that again, anything past season 11 is barely watchable.
>Disney could actually improve the show, I have no doubt that they're gonna breathe new life into it
Kill yourself.
The first 4 seasons were utter garbage. The golden era for me is season 5-10
Season 11 episode 5 is the only good episode in the simpsons
