Are they making any more of this? What direction could they possibly go in?

rebooting it and making a good universe.
Ditch Scott and get Cameron back. Scott has 3 alien films, only 1 of them is good, time to retire him.
Down
hopefully revisiting Neill Blomkamp's Alien 5 since Oats Studios proved he knows how to make good shit again.
How was David making face hugger eggs without a queen?
Mutated the eggs from Shaw's ovaries after dissecting her.
That's one fan theory I've heard.
This, he's too obsessed with jerking off over pseudo religious themes
More aliens killing helpless humans, no doubt.
Yawn.
I'm not sure how much farther down it could go.
So just a big plot hole then? That's what I thought
Yeah, pretty much.
aliens isnt canon
>What direction could they possibly go in?
Aliens get to Earth and humanity is fighting for its very existence. Basically Aliens but on a massive scale.
Ridley has one prequel more mapped out. It just has to be greenlit.
Humans have just pulled themselves out of the ruins caused by the Alien infestation of Earth. The last thing anyone wants to see is more Aliens, right? So why is billionaire Daniel Grant leading an expedition to the Alien homeworld?
adapt this
last we heard Ridley is continuing his David thing at Hulu with a miniseries.
Disney is planing to reboot the entire franchise.
You could do so much things with Alien, this franchise has so much potential...
This will push me over the edge.
They can only work in an action setting now
Everybody is familiar with the alien these days. It’s not scary. You can try to recreate the atmosphere and tension of the first film but it’d still disappoint because we all know how this shit works and it’d be a fucking snore fest.
The best way to more forward is to embrace the fact that these creatures are machine gun fodder now and focus on casting likeable actors for well written characters without trying to make a movie that attempts to be smarter than it is
bring her back
true. You can even see this in the directors cut of alien, you first see the ayy hanging from the chains in the landing leg room. It's far too early to see it in full and you can see why it was cut, quick glimpses and quick cuts keep the mystery. Aliens had to change this because it had to be a different film to work, unfortunately we only get rehashes of aliens for sequels now.
She's dead Tennessee will be the star of the new one, davey will have used her for reproductive organs
Yeah. Still works in video games though.
Aliens was the worst in the series.
It pains me to compliment covenant, but yes, it was better
>its not scary
Its probably the only real scary monster design left. Make a movie in the vein of Isolation with a really vulnerable protag and no real weapons against the Xeno and your pretty much set.
The only way to make it good again is to retcon everything after 3 and make directors cut of 3 canon. Stop trying to reinvent the world and instead focus on telling a good story in it. And stop scaling up, first one was the best because it had exactly one xeno, a handful of people and one ship at stake.
Make an Alien vs [x] movie again and the money will come.
>Everybody is familiar with the alien these days. It’s not scary.
I'm not sure I understand this argument.
This is like when people say Predator can't have tension and suspense anymore because the audience know what the Pred looks like. Which is bullshit.
With this perspective you might as well argue that horror movies with human villains are worthless, since we all know what a human looks like and what they're capable of.
Who /wheatposting/ here
They should make one where the alians claim asylumn on earth and the democrats makes us live with them
THIS, this guy knows his shit
Do a movie about future Earth being lost to the Aliens. In the comics it was pretty good. It could be really horrific. Billions dying and billions more being farmed by a planet spanning hive.
The alien would still be scary if they hadn't goddamn nerfed it in aliens. Implied in the first movie to be straight up immortal, stated to have insane regenerative powers. Impenetrable armor, insanely powerful muscles. Lol nope, gotta make em cannon fodder for muh epic space muhreens action film.
Now that we've got that out of the way can we discuss the Bonus Situation?
Seriously though, why didn't they address the bonus situation.
Ridley was gonna make a third sequel but Fox said no and then ceased to exist. Disney is just gonna lock the IP in a basement and forget it ever existed.
Disney's going to rape everything you ever loved before you die, user.
>Disney is just gonna lock the IP in a basement and forget it ever existed.
That seems very wasteful. And if recent movies have taught us anything, it's that Disney loves making money.
With a little luck, Disney will sell the franchise to someone else who's actually interested in making good horror.
No. They are going to make animation about it and xeno gets added to the ranks of disney princesses. Cute and quirky, not yet a queen.
Not gonna lie, that would amuse me.
