You're right. But you're targeting the framework as the source of the film's disagreements with you and Hollywood in general when it was the substance. You're basically calling them the same off handedly.
I will state this one more time plain and clear for you. Hollywood is in decline because they're taking stories ALREADY MADE using the HJ formula WITH substance, and doing nothing be retelling it, THE SAME STRUCTURE AND THE SAME SUBSTANCE, with superficial differences, typically better graphics.
The problem is NOT using the framework. The problem is taking the story told already, framework + substance, and duplicating it, not crafting something new. Alita does not do that. It creates a new story using the Hero's Journey framework. YOU just disagree about the substance.
