I'm partial to Aliens. It's THE action movie for me. Once the shit starts hitting the fan, the pacing is incredible and never slows except for catching your breath for a brief moment.

What are you planning? "Alien Day" is a few weeks away and it's the 40th anniversary year since Alien. All of a sudden there are multiple Alien threads every day. Most of them being pointless autistic ranking threads "Which is better Alien or Aliens?" because that drives the most replies. Why are you driving up brand recognition? Some people just don't get that the flamethrower is the right weapon for a noob. no way ripley outperforms the bug stompers. the colonial marines got ambushed by an alien lifeform they were not prepared for and then had to withstand an assault of overwhelming numbers.

They're totally different movies so it's hard to really compare the two but obviously Alien is better and if you disagree you're a hack fraud

there's no atmosphere. after alien and aliens, the xenomorph had lost its terror. that's what the makers of A3 didn't get. we've already seen them killed in droves. you can't just go back to A1-level of fear after aliens. as a result, A3 was boring.

It is a little dry and the characters kinda blur together, but the style and the dark direction they took was good. It was a fitting end to a dark series. Except they brought it back with Resurrection. Which I actually thought had an interesting group of characters and they brought some humor to the series.

Everything after that is dog shit, including Prometheus. And just when you think there couldn't be a dumber crew aboard a spaceship, they top it with Covenant.

I saw Alien on VCR in 85 and Aliens in the theater in 86. They both work together or as stand alone movies. I like them both the same depending on what mood I'm in. Seeing Aliens in the theater was a hell of an experience.

It does take, what, nearly an hour or so for any action to happen?

Alien is actually scary and nails the atmosphere, and is packed with unforgettable and iconic scenes. Aliens is a generic shoot-em-up monster movie that is best enjoyed when you’re fifteen.

Alien is the better motion picture. Aliens is a lot of fun though.
