OP has been throughly gaped, but there is one exchange of lines in the movie that irks me despite being a huge fan. It doesn't ruin the movie, but it is so weird in the context of the movie.

When Ellie and Muldoon are going to the shed to power up the park, Hammond offers to go instead. Ellie gets offended and claims this is sexism. It makes no sense, especially since Hammond might as well imply that he should go because he is older (frail to the point of being useless for the task, but whatever) or because he is the one responsible for the mess. Why did sexism have to be brought up?

The book is worse compared to the movie. It has more dinosaur scenes but those were also adapted in the sequels. And they weren't as fun in the book. The best part of the book are the chapter where they discuss stuff about the park or technical and scientific stuff in general. The ending is kind of bad.

Film versions of books almost always suck in comparison. Best to treat books and their film counterparts separately.

I wish we knew what was Spielberg thinking when he made The Lost World. Not talking about the movie itself because I like it and I have many memories connected with it but what about antagonists? Did Spielberg think they had a point when they said that dinosaurs are property of InGen and have no rights like the Hammond crew was thinking treating them as if they came from nature. And Nick van Owen botched the job of course. Was it meant to be ambiguous? Even Ludlow didn't seem to be evil, just misguided and mean. That's why I didn't like how human villains became murderers in the last movie and how Wu is going in this direction.

I agree that Fallen Kingdom was worse than Jurassic World and it's the worst JP movie since III but I can't put my finger on it why I think it's bad. Nothing wrong with making two large stories in one movie or adding horror elements but they went too far in a few places.

Nick van Owen is the real villain of that movie. And yes, Ludlow was the CEO of a failing megacorporation that was trying to do anything to save it. His death scene is so macabre, it's like we're supposed to find it good and fun that he's being eaten alive. And the dark comedy elements throughout the movie are just so bizarre.
