Okay, how many people are involved with it? 10? 20?

So I just got back from my 4th and probably last viewing alright let's not lie here and like usual I feel I picked up on some details overlooked on prior viewings.

Since all the debate about which plot lines have necessarily been forced out due to the change in writing of the script, I figured I'd try and pay attention to see if those plot lines really were made impossible.

So one of them was being Nova transformed from "neutral" mad scientist trying to change destiny/fate and that the movie version of him seemingly removed that aspect of him and turned him into a petty tyrant with no interest in changing fate. I think that's false. There were some clues in this movie about what we should expect to see him as in the next ones.

1. They called him the "dragon that must be slain", and when you see the hologram of him, he doesn't look kingly or royal looking at all. He still looks like a scientist. This doesn't confirm anything other than that he has more influence or part in the story than we're told.
2. There was a specific and very brief line of dialogue by Nova when he was talking to Chiren via Vector, and I forgot what he said verbatim, but it said something about "destiny". This word popped up twice in the movie. Once by Nova, and the second by Grewishka down in the underworld when talking to Alita and referencing Nova. So clearly the element of the concept of fate is still of interest to Nova, this is not discarded.

So I think Nova will simply be placed in a different position, but I think his actual *motivations* will be similar if not exactly the same.

1. It was interesting how Nova knew that Hugo wasn't really actually dead despite the Centurions confirming the bounty and sent factory workers to claim him after his chat with Alita. This led me to believe that Nova, the "Watcher Behind the Eyes" saw Zapan and his reaction and dialogue somehow, likely through the Centurion at a later time. Zapan was the only one who knew the trickery of Alita and Chiren, so the only logical conclusion is he must be relevant in the next movie.
2. I tried paying attention to Alita's Motorball armor at the end and I'm like 99% sure that it was an entirely new body meant for Motorball only. This opens up the possibility of her Berserker body being stolen by Nova or whomever and using Zapan and his desire for revenge, presumably for Nova's desire to mess with "destiny".

So I think Zapan's arc can still be done clean enough.

HOWEVER, with Chiren's brain and parts being sent to Nova, I think this plot point in particular, the Secret of Zalem brain chips, we can 100% rule out. It was made pretty explicitly clear that that was Chiren and Vector had no reason at all to lie in that moment.

So in all, I think the movie will try to adopt at least 80% of the elements of the original manga, but 20% will be either repurposed or scrapped entirely simply out of necessity.

Also Motorball is the GOAT song.

Well, a very weak link, but Ido did seem to have a very rudimentary understanding of what she was doing when she first tried it out after Ido put the body on her. He just didn't know the specifics. We also know there is a time gap between Hugo's death and the ending shot, so, again, kind of a weak link here, it's entirely possible between the two periods of time Ido did a bit of reverse engineering and integrated that particular portion of her URM tech into her suit.

Yeah, we don't know how involved Ido was with Alita's run through motorball, but considering they were much closer by the end than in the original manga, she stayed by him. Hopefully that's touched on for a brief moment later where Ido did figure out the berzerker body or something.

I signed up for it yesterday, and I went tonight to see it again and noticed they had replaced it with a different movie. So I told them I had signed for it, and since I was there I could just pick it up.
You just ask, pretty much. Leave your name and number. The trick is to get in early before other people.

I'll make it very simple and clear: Captain Marvel is really worth a watch. It's just entertaining and visually impressive, exactly what it was meant to be.

Just keep this in mind that it's an origin story so don't go looking for an overstuffed complex story. It's just a fun action movie that introduces us to a new superhero Captain Marvel, played brilliantly by Brie Larson. I became an instant fan watching her in this action heroine avatar, something she manages to pull off with ease. Watch her in the action sequences and there's no way you can't be impressed. Viewers were literally cheering for some of the most heroic moments in the film. Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury is as awesome as always, it's just that his character feels even better and refined than what we've seen. Jude Law is also quite good, and so are Ben Mendelsohn and Lashana Lynch.

But the one character that ultimately steals the show is Goose, the cat. Some of the sequences involving her are so hilarious that it was really difficult to stop laughing.

Visual effects are excellent, and the IMAX 3D viewing just elevated them. And since it's most importantly an action movie, every single action sequence it delivers is impressive, especially the train sequence. I would call it one of the major highlights of the movie. Cinematography in certain portions is really impressive. Humor, like any other MCU movie, is top notch and really manages to make you laugh.

Captain Marvel has a simple-looking origin story presented and executed in a terrific manner. The directors have done a great job with the characterization of Captain Marvel, and that is what makes everything in the film seem so good. The pace is brisk, gore is minimal to no, and there's nothing unsuitable for kids.

I had this headcanon that Skrulls turned into Peter Parker's parents and attacked Fury since in the comics the Parkers were government agents and that would've given this nice connection between Fury and Peter and explained why they're together in Far From Home but I guess that didn't happen.

Does anyone else think Iron City looks /comfy/? Ido says the town is bad, and I guess at night the crime levels rise, esp with no cops. But everything is built, for the most part, down to a human scale. And it's got the cozy Italianate(?) architecture with all the balconies, and bay windows.

You can't really see it in this pic that well, but in the scenes like when she's eating the burrito and feeds the dog, and when she leaves Ido's and is stopped by Chiren, and Ido looks down at her from the bay window. It's kino.
