Why bother making a good movie...
...when you can browbeat and insult your audience when you make a bad one and they don't like it?
I've seen the movie and it's pretty lackluster.
It also has some cringey SJW moments.
I think most of the hate is a result of Brie Larson's comments to white males.
I'm black but I can understand the hate even if I don't partake in it.
The movie was still pretty average, the writing was not great. I went for my girl and she didn't care for it either.
I'll make it very simple and clear: Captain Marvel is really worth a watch. It's just entertaining and visually impressive, exactly what it was meant to be.
Just keep this in mind that it's an origin story so don't go looking for an overstuffed complex story. It's just a fun action movie that introduces us to a new superhero Captain Marvel, played brilliantly by Brie Larson. I became an instant fan watching her in this action heroine avatar, something she manages to pull off with ease. Watch her in the action sequences and there's no way you can't be impressed. Viewers were literally cheering for some of the most heroic moments in the film. Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury is as awesome as always, it's just that his character feels even better and refined than what we've seen. Jude Law is also quite good, and so are Ben Mendelsohn and Lashana Lynch.
But the one character that ultimately steals the show is Goose, the cat. Some of the sequences involving her are so hilarious that it was really difficult to stop laughing.
Visual effects are excellent, and the IMAX 3D viewing just elevated them. And since it's most importantly an action movie, every single action sequence it delivers is impressive, especially the train sequence. I would call it one of the major highlights of the movie. Cinematography in certain portions is really impressive. Humor, like any other MCU movie, is top notch and really manages to make you laugh.
Captain Marvel has a simple-looking origin story presented and executed in a terrific manner. The directors have done a great job with the characterization of Captain Marvel, and that is what makes everything in the film seem so good. The pace is brisk, gore is minimal to no, and there's nothing unsuitable for kids
Have sex.
But not with a woman because that should be her decision, not yours.
Dont cast a charisma vacuum in your leading role.
Problem solved.
How'd it feel seeing Samuel L Jackson get turned into a House Slave for Brie Larson? Does it feel nice knowing that at the end of the day, if it's a choice between the dignity of a black person or the power of a white person, white power always comes first?
I'd love to kick Captain Marvel in the head. Just take a few steps run up then catch her with the full force of my steel capped toe under her chin, send that little cunt flying through the air.
As she lies on the floor, coughing and wheezing and choking on her own blood, her jaw a mangled mess of bones detached from the rest of her skull, I stand over her and laugh wickedly. She looks up at me in fear and pain, her eyes searching, begging me for mercy. She finds none. I raise my boot then stomp down, splitting her skull like a melon and finally ending her pathetic life.
Ah, so you agree with me that Jackson's presentation in this film was racist.
I don't know, I didn't think about it like that. I thought SLJ was cool, I liked his part
SLJ is always cool.
I don't judge a movie I haven't seen, but today I learned Cpt Marvel is actually a man in the comics
that's fucked up
I mean imagine if they casted a dude to play a gay male version of picrelated
I think it's funny that nobody knows even basic shit about Captain Marvel because nobody cares about or likes this character or is hyped for the Captain Marvel movie. More than all the social messaging shit this is what Disney is actually shoving down our throats. "Captain Marvel", who we are all supposed to fucking love, because her name is Marvel and that's the name of the irl comics company.
The audience score is cringey as fuck desu because it makes white men look like pussy retards

Not even remotely comparable. Nobody cares about a reboot of an 80s moving staring the cast of SNL. This is a Marvel movie, It's one of the biggest brands on Earth. People will see it. Everyone in the WORLD will see it. That's the end of the story. People are just sensitive about the review score because they don't want to admit these movies are actually, as a cultural product, as a artform, complete and utter trash.
>everyone in the WORLD will see it
Yes, even the people who don't watch marvel movies and don't care about films in general
Personally i will probably see it if it blows over and Endgame confuses me. But not before, and not if Captain Cunt ruins it.
Tbh if it is actually fucked by this movie then i probably won't see either. These marvel movies jumped the shark in civil war anyway.

Captain Marvel itself is sexism.
I've fought girls before irl. It's kinda hilarious how weak they are especially considering how tough they act.
use a different image now that you've been exposed desu
People hate the Captain Marvel movie over its blatant racism and white washing another character
Wonder Woman was shit. Even before the horrible ending it had an identity crisis the whole run time. I can only imagine how awful Captain Marvel is.
The hate is definitely sexism
But the criticism isn't sexism
A little of both it seems like.
Brie’s acting is akin to watching paint dry.
that and brie larson being a bigoted cunt
Wonder Woman was shit, too.
Just saw Captain Marvel and it was more entertaining than Wonder Woman. Both are bad though.
Actually, she is good
>I've fought girls before irl.
If it got to the point where you actually had to fight you must be weak yourself user.
Haha, no, she's not.
She's hard to take seriously, and her humor comes across as somewhat awkward.
She's better than Gadot, but that isn't saying much.
It was a standard issue Marvel movie but it was frustrating to watch.
The fucking cat, I thought Yea Forums was trolling
Captain Marvel is really good except for Captain Marvel herself. Like switch out Captain Marvel for another actor and it might be kino.
She isn’t believable. Gal BTFOs her.
why would walt disney co pay more for a separate actress?
please advise.
I wouldn't go that far.
The villain was awful, and the story was a bit jumbled, for example, you don't really learn anything about the Kree to understand WHY they're "the bad guys" or why they do what they do.
The way Fury lost the eye really seems out out place given how he spoke about it previously. It was better than I hoped, better than say the Dark World, Iron Man 3, Ant-Man & The Wasp, even a "praised" entry like Black Panther.
But "really good" is a bit much, "really good" is like Civil War.
Not as weak as the girls.
NPC
My theater was half-full when I went to see Wonder Woman like a month after it came out.
wonder woman was a nice adventure movie and pretty enjoyable for a capeshit origin story. also, gadot was great as diana and there was no need to build a feminist campaign around the movie itself.
Hey whitey shut ins. Just go get your dicks wet and start to live a little. Don't spend all the time in your rooms being fucking pathetic sexless losers.
Stop shilling so obviously.
opening night demos
>Captain Marvel 61% male/39% female
>Wonder Woman 48% male/52% female
what was meant by this?
Wait, what? That seems weird. Why would more men than women watch Captain Manhater?
No hordes of female democrats butthurt about the election showing up to make a statement.
Marvel fanboys who bought their tickets weeks ago.
WB owns Rotten Tomatoes, so they deleted all the negativity about WW.
american '''men'''
I find most normals find her at worst "ok"
very internet people who were invested in this whole """controversy""" just say she sucks
Arg!
Umh..
W-who hurt you?
You are an incel!
Im gonna dox and destroy your life, that will teach you!
Normal common sense?!
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>She's better than Gadot
No she's not. Gadot has more expressions than a permanent bitchface.
Pic related watched it.
This?
Not that I think anyone will care about my opinion but I just saw it and I thought it was fine. It was definitely a step back, felt much more like a Phase 1 movie when the franchise was still finding its footing. The first part of the first act didn't interest me at all, the music was intrusive, the antagonists were undeveloped and Danvers didn't have a strong character arc. That said I still enjoyed it and think they could develop Larson as Captain Marvel as something I'm a bit ambivalent about to something I look forward to with some fine tuning and better characterization like Hemsworth as Thor.
>majority of the user scores from before it was available for public screening
Gee I wonder why
>t. hasn't seen the movie
>This is a Marvel movie, It's one of the biggest brands on Earth. People will see it. Everyone in the WORLD will see it.
Uh huh.
And the Titanic is unsinkable.
>being this hyperbolic to make a point
if there was a clearer way to tell someone had no point
Lie.
That which can be asserted without proof can be dismissed without proof.
Giving you a logical analogy was a gift for a mentally disabled person.
So I was just over on Rotten Tomatoes looking at the reviews. Over a period of approximately 90 seconds 8000 reviews were added to the ratings (could have been a batch update, I don't know how updates work on that site) and the audience score went up 13%. Call me crazy, but when the score which has hovered in the 30's all day jumps like that, I get suspicious.
>And the Titanic is unsinkable
As a tangent this saying always pisses me off. The Titanic didn't sink because of a design flaw, it sank because of the fuckers driving the thing. It was no more sinkable than any other contemporary large luxury liner.
I don't think Captain Marvel will break a billion but I suspect it will at least pull Ant-Man numbers.
it came out today, i live in mexico, right at the border, this place is filled with normies and poor people that would watch anything, ANYTHING, and nobody's excited about this turd, nobody went to the 12 am premier which is extremely weird since that has become sort of a tradition around here.
BASED
That's so dumb, I hate it when they try to retcon/explain shit that doesn't need it.
Like Han Solo's last name.
captain cunt started the hate.
Following your tangent, the Titanic was somewhat less sinkable than her comparable contemporaries. Because it was (from an engineering standpoint) one of the safest ships on the ocean, marketing did advertise it that way. Admittedly, most marketing was about how luxurious, comfortable, and most importantly big it was, but the safety claims were made.
You are entirely right, the collision was human error. However, the historical irony is appealing to human nature.
based beaners
What were the SJW moments? Does she look directly into the camera like Uncle Ben?
Agreed
Which is why you only have trite platitudes
Nope. Steel it was made out of changed properties in the extreme cold water and became super brittle. That and retardation made it sink.
t. engineer
I like the disjointed flashback parts. Remembered me to DC a bit, which I love. But then everyone just became friends with each other, and you fight you did it with nostalgia songs, thats when I remember this is a Marvel movie
It's an excuse for an unengaging movie. But white women must always be protected, so whatever.
Does Shazam have a chance with these critics? Seems like they'll trash it for not being Marvel.
In less than 48 hours, there were over 50k user reviews generated for Captain Marvel on RT. If you honestly believe that's not only possible for authentic, you're retarded. Half of them read like a text to speech not, unironically. Not even TFA or Avatar had that many user reviews in such a short time.
>I think most of the hate is a result of Brie Larson's comments to white males.
Only autists here and a handful of /pol/niggers even care.
*possible but also authentic
*text to speech bot
Oh it gets better, fren.
The original Captain Marvel was a man. The original *female* Captain Marvel was a black woman. So this isn't just a gender-swap, it's white-washing, too.
And the hypocrisy of Brie "If it's a white male, it's a no-sale" Larson is fucking staggering.
>The way Fury lost the eye really seems out out place given how he spoke about it previously.
Eh, I was okay with that by virtue of 'lying about shit is literally Fury's MO'. His defining moment was throwing the bloodied captain america cards of a friend onto the table to inspire the team. Cards he'd personally bloodied so he could sell it. The movie ending with Nick Fury starting to realise just how powerful a tool setting up a mythology around himself is worked for me as it flowed into his later character.
You...
Yes, you. The one screaming, "Brie Larson is toxic" and "Her movie is shit!" and other slurs I dare not mention. Tread lightly.
You are one. We are hundreds, thousands. Millions. You aren't just IN the minority; you ARE the minority.
I don't feel awkward or anxious going to watch Captain Marvel at least five times around others, and your words don't affect me. Many others, however, are coming out of their shells for the first time in their lives. This is the first time many are enjoying the beautiful movie that has been made for us - and it IS powerful. Incredibly so. DON'T ruin this for them. We Captain Marvel fans may have our differences, but we will not hesitate to come to the aid of our fellow fans, especially against someone who so virulently slurs that which has brought us all together.
Don't take this the wrong way. I don't hate you. I don't fear you.
I pity you.
I'm sorry that you feel this way towards us. I'm sorry that Captain Marvel and Brie are such a bane to your existence. And I'm sorry that you are missing out on such a wonderful experience. Mostly, though, I'm sorry that you feel the need to go around and publicly chastise and berate others. I'm sorry that, to ensure your own validity, you need to make others feel invalid. I'm sorry that your self-worth is so infinitesimally miniscule that you have to make others feel less-than-human, at least in your own denatured mind, just to feel whole. I am truly sorry that day-in and day-out you have to put up with your worthless, meaningless, Shakespearean tragedy of a life.
I ask you politely to cease your unnecessary cries for attention, and instead invite you to join our ranks. Stop watching porn and anime, go to cinema to watch Captain Marvel, and breathe in the splendour and the amazement of this movie, and then, maybe, just maybe, you'll see what you've been so hopelessly searching for this whole time.
>The original Captain Marvel was a man.
I mean, he was also shit. He was never popular and he's only memorable because Marvel desperately wanted to keep that copyright on the name.
I really don't understand this what will they earn from insulting their customer?
Tits or gtfo
Also trannies should an hero
>I really don't understand this what will they earn from insulting their customer?
They didn't, really. People took some things said comically out of context. She had an interview with a disabled interviewer and said that she liked having interviews like this because it let her talk to people of all backgrounds to see what they think of things. People somehow turned that into her hating white men.
>Also trannies should an hero
>YFW WHEN THE FURRY AVENGER SPIKES YOUR WHINY CIS INCELLOID HEAD INTO THE NET
They deleted 40,000 reviews. The absolute madmen.
One thing I'm having trouble with understanding is how someone can say 'bring it incels! fuck white people' then freak out whenever they actually get attacked by normies and incels alike. That's what happens when you go out of your way to try and invite hate.
>Is the hate for Captain Marvel really sexism? Or is that just an excuse for an unengaging movie?
Believing in RT score
>people I don't like should kill themselves
> Impying WW was good
Are you guys retarded? Seriously... people claiming that WW was a great depiction of a female hero and then slamming Captain Marvel because "it´s not as good as WW" really need to watch more cinema. I mean it, your taste and understanding of what makes a good movie or a good character are at a terminal state. Both of those movies are equally shit. I know Yea Forums is full of kids and of intelligent people pretending to be retards... but damn, your performance is so convincing that i am starting to consider you deserve an oscar or something.
