I'm far from a marvelfag, it's the McDonald's of movies but their movies do well financially. I don't see this huge hyped up sequel under performing because Cap Marvel is shit.

It's funny that politics dictated the creation of this movie. Brie said she didnt like people telling her to smile more, so she doesnt smile in the film, etc. etc. Most of the moviegoing audience doesnt keep up with these internet politics so when they see the movie they see a bland lifeless character with no meaning behind it. It starts off with the main character being a cardboard cutout to fulfill self insert fantasies, the plot meanders, the side cast do their jobs well. The main character sees the least character development to justify her power spike, the movie is basically prequel bait to serve as Endgame Prologue.

If you're going to commit to Captain Marvel, you need to basically sink money into the franchise and hope they develop the character in the next 9 or 10 movies.

I feel like this is the problem with "cinematic universes" you have to plan things long term but if you make one miscalculation, it threatens the whole thing. Making this movie was a huge mistake.
