In ST09, the scaling is all over the place. It goes from being TOS-sized to larger than the Enterprise-D. The bridge dome was definitely meant to be where the bridge was, but the shuttlebay looks like it could fit Voyager inside.
For Into Darkness, though, they straight up settled on having it be 800 meters or whatever, where the bridge is the tiny portion in front of the saucer dome, and the dome is a massive skylight on top of what they call the "saucer plaza".

It's just nonstop horrible decisions with these faggots.

In STD at least, ships are back to the "tiny" TOS size of 200-400 meters in length, which makes more sense for starships that aren't meant to have families on board for 10-year deep space missions like the Galaxy class. Well, Discovery is longer than the Enterprise-E, but according to scale charts the saucer section is only about the same diameter as the TOS Enterprise.

Most of Discovery's length is in those stupid nacelles that also fuck its proportions up.

- i am enjoying the plots of the episodes and the feel of the hsow
- of the cast i like Odo and Quark a lot, dr Julian I don't like (too quirky), O'Brien now seems to get major screentime who I don't really care for much, Kira seems neat, Jadzia I have no opinion about, Sisko talks kind of weird, I can't place it

I wonder how this will change because I remember TOS > TNG was a difficult adaptation to the new cast for me but worked out well in the end where I ended up liking everybody
