Male waiters are incredibly rare and when you get one you know he had to actually earn that position, so the service is almost always great. but then theres the fact that as a society we generally don't like tipping men for doing their job, so its rare that a male waiter will get a huge tip despite his excellent service. The exception is at steak houses where men tend to take over the scene and will throw a good waiter a good tip since they were eating steak and drinking wine for the last two hours and are feeling bro like.

I say this as someone who has worked in downtown kitchens before, so this is just what i've heard/observed over the years. attrative waitresses can rake in literaly thousands of dollars in tips over the course of a week, its insane.
