I used to about 3-4 years ago, but stopped.
Every time a certain topic would come up that irked him, he go on the the same recycled rant that he always uses.
He was only worth listening to depending on the guest, much like JRE.

Because, the last time I listened to him, he was telling people to support the pirate ship, and donate to the pirate ship. All the while, he's affiliated with one of the big radio companies.(I don't remember which) So he's literally just lying about the company he keeps, in order to continue using his viewers as a direct source of income.

he kind of touched on this subject a week or so ago. he does a 2 hour podcast 5 days a week every week for 10 years. there are always new people coming in that havent heard something hes said before. so some stuff will get used again which can be boring, i just hope for some new jokes with the old which sometimes happens.

Back when I still listened, he used to maintain a donation button. Where listeners could subscribe for recurring monthly payments. But regardless if he still maintains that or not. He's simply not the pirate ship anymore. He still holds on to that antiquated idea that he's completely independent, and flying by the seat of his pants. No, now he's got his team of producers and lawyers, and Westwood one, and it operates like any other corporate radio station. Only it's online.

No it isn't. They're two separate companies. Dennis Miller hasn't called in to play the Rotten Tomatoes game ever since his show moved from Podcast One to Westwood One.

His take on DAG distancing himself was completely off. It's not that DAG disagrees with Adam's politics. It's the weird sport culture that politics has taken on and most people either don't notice it, or if they do, they consider it very ugly. Carolla has jumped headfirst into this sporting culture of politics. That's why DAG is distancing himself.

I don't think so. i think Jimmy definitely has his believes and especially in the healthcare debate became actively involved. But I don't think he's got into the football aspect.

Well I was listening to him when he transitioned from FM to podcasting. And the pirate ship was literally the concept of sticking it to the man. And staying afloat WITHOUT corporate money. I believe he describes it as putting wind in the sales, right?

I don't care if he can do what he wants. It's not honest to play the independent angle, in order to garner sympathy dollars from the audience, when you're affiliated with a major company. Also, I don't believe he does what he wants. Because I remember a podcast when he said he was going to curb some of the cursing, for the sake of advertising.

Alright. So it seems I got some facts mixed up about who owns podcast one and westwood one. Looking at google, it appears that the founder of westwood one, Norm Pattiz, went on to create podcast one. And while Norm stepped down as chairman of westwood one, he still acts as a consultant.(whatever that means)
So, in a sense, podcastone is still being ran by the highly successful owner of westwood one. That's still being affiliated with the man.

What are you one of his prudish conservative listeners? Cursing is just a natural manner of speech for many people. And vulgarity can be funny when weaponized in a funny way. He's a comedian. He says funny things. Sometimes those things happen to be raunchy. Trying to downplay that, in order to give him some bonus points, is disingenuous.

They're the same thing. How can you get raunchy, if you limit the words you can say to describe certain things. Adam decided he's not going to say naughty words like "cunt", because advertisers find it distasteful. I mean, he said he'd still have the ability to use is sparsely. But like, come on. The fact that he has to note this at all, means that they're restricting his language more than what he's accustomed to. Otherwise, it would be a non issue.
