Wasn't Josh Brolin already cast?

me

did he do anything wrong at all?

James McAvoy

Get in love with that Tleilaxu woman

Characters kept referring to terrible things he did, but there was really no example of that anywhere in the story.

He saved the universe.

>forced everyone to follow the golden path even though it brought untold hardship to everyone and made Paul Atredies a tyrant in the eyes of the universe.
Other than that I cant think of much else he did wrong.

wasn't she Ixian?

Maybe, I do not remember exactly.

>it brought untold hardship to everyone
A single thread in a tapestry, though its color brightly shines, can never see its purpose in the pattern of the grand design.

Do you have a monster penis to go with that monster body?

this is actually a plot point in the novel. His penis has been completely covered by the worm that's been absorbing him for 3000 years so he's incapable of cumming anymore and he's extremely sexually frustrated

jim norton

My cock as the worm

i'm aware, that was a bad quoting from the book itself

Cast Hwi.

James woods

the cover looks so fucking stupid

Surprisingly based idea

I have both this and the Colture series ready to read, which should I start first?

Read dune, throw the culture series in to the trash.

Dune. The Culture is actually fucking gay

i could get behind this

From the state of all of these Dune threads it's like almost no one has actually read the books.

spotted the circumcised dicklet

I don't know how to read.

Why did he transform himself into a worm anyway?

Immortality and Prescience.

the golden path (the very long-term best course for humanity) demanded it.

leto II. is not immortal even if he lives for a couple thousand years. his death and the return of arrakis to desert planet form are all part of the golden path.

This may be a question for Yea Forums but I'm planning to read “Dune”for the first time this summer. Are the sequels worth it, or should I stick to the original book?

sequels are interesting but not on the same league as the first book imo

God Emperor is God tier

the original book is the only one I'd call a masterpiece but dune messiah and children of dune are very good sequels and you probably want to read them to reach the conclusion of mua'dib's story. if you read the first three, you will likely try god emperor as well, at which point you will either be plebfiltered or ascend to the lofty intellectual realms of the truly prescient and enlightend.

There was a chart for it but I can't find it right now. First book yes. If you like it and want to continue and complete Muad'dib's story, read 2 and 3. If you really like the writer and the universe and want to dive deep into it, read 4. If you're in love with it by now and would be willing to read the second part of the story, knowing that it's incomplete, read 5 and 6. Avoid Brian Herbert at all costs.

Pinky and Brain's fanfics are hilarious. They managed to combine torture porn and transformers.

The dune books are so bad it hurts

Is that Jazz or Chad Warden.

Very specific reasons I don't care to explain to you.

Nice. Thanks so much, anons.

Just avoid anything touched by Brian Herbert and you'll be good.

Heretics and Chapterhouse get a little silly but Brian's books are shit.

I don't actually know if he was immortal or not, though his death was certainly intentional.

First half of Dune is a masterpiece. Drastically decreases in quality afterwards.
Dune Messiah is okay, Children of Dune is a bit worse.
God Emperor of Dune starts off brilliantly but as you go on it becomes monotonous and ever apparent that the ramblings won't actually make sense (plot has never been the best part of Dune, but God Emperor takes the piss by having the only bit of plot come in the last 30 pages).
The series is a decent read, but I simply don't see the why there's such wide acclaim.
Regardless, you should definitely read the first book, if only for the first half.

kys for being such a brainlet

The absolute state of Blade Runner fans.

Herbert's characters and worlds are some of the most intricate in science fiction. His works are a combination of politics, ecology, science, religion, philosophy and romance.

that's a clitoris

no, it's a pepe

because he is space Jesus 2.0

Wow, but I've been told that Dune was such a great fucking book and not at all boring. Why have so few people read this thrilling epic about big worms crawling around in dirt and people stabbing each other?

they use swords and knives because personal shields exist

The characters of the first book are comic book tier, they are either cartoonish evil like the fat count, the emperor and his armies, or the protagonists which are good in every way.
They are super one dimensional and it threw me off of the book very hard.

This. He was great in the Children of Dune miniseries.

>4channel hates women
>loves Leto II
>Leto II's civilization was HEAVILY matriarchal, the only soldiers allowed were his Fishspeakers, a 100% woman military unit

What's wrong with Wheel of Time or Harry Potter?

Did you have a big smug grin on your mongoloid face as you typed this retarded faggot post?

ONLY read novels written by Frank Herbert.
That's Frank. Frank Herbert.
If it says it's written by Brian Herbert, burn the book, no matter where you are.

No but I had one while I was fucking your father.

i agree with your opinion on Dune the book
i recently finished it and constantly found myself longing for the first third ("Dune"). i wish the whole thing was like it

I’m on children of dune right now. Series is pretty based desu.

how did the fremen jihad work though? Did they just pay the guild to transport millions of people across hundreds of planets for invasions. Seems like itd be a shitload of money desu

They controlled the spice you fag, the guild had no choice.

Nice
