Well to use yang's example, the trucking industry has 4 million truckers, 4 million non truckers (maintenance men and the like) and the countless millions who rely on the truckers for their business, like the restaurants and gas stations scattered around the US that serve almost entirely truckers. When google's driving AI no longer needs to be monitored, all those people are going to immediately be unemployed, and there's no new industry that will be able to replace them as quickly as they are going to get fired. That's just one industry.
