It's about time somebody made a compilation of these things, they're so fucking soulless.
I live in a suburban hellhole and there are strip malls all around that look the exact same: GREY AND BLOCKY. I ask other people, “don’t you think this architecture trend looks like shit?” and nobody else seems to have a problem with them. I really hope this trend dies ASAP and we all look back on it and cringe hard.

people blame "muh architecture" but building costs in the West have become so expensive due to taxes, wages, and material costs that it's just much more efficient to make pic related. Especially when you need to renovate every few years.

This is only really true of certain institutional buildings. The trend isn't a practical response to higher costs (real wages have stagnated for nearly three decades) but a generalizing of institutional aesthetica and technics. Basically they are going to build the prison around us. And Mexico will pay for it :^)
