It's going yo have a strong start, but will peter out in 2 to 3 weels tops. Grossing from the high 600's to mid 800's.
Sure it's a Marvel film, but that's really the only thing it has going for it. That alone only probably guarantees you 600 million.

One top of that it's been really controversial release since the beginning. From the initial trailer, to the lead actress, to the studio execs, to critics and now the film itself. As far as I'm aware the Chinese don't seem to like it, and even agenda driven critics and early fan screening attendees are speaking pretty mixed about it.

Frankly the only legs it has to stand on is the Marvel brand, and the outrage about the outrage. Unless the mouse works his magic somehow.

It's tracking ahead of civil war in China, at a 95 million opening. Worldwide it will beat alita opening week.
It is all going to boil down to what the drop off is. It's fairly unopposed for 2 weeks till Us releases, then Shazam later in the month.

It won't even be the highest grossing female led film this decade, both wonder woman and force awakens made a shit ton.

I have CM pegged at a conservative 600mil, which, coincides with what I predicted for Solo. I honestly believe that Captain Marvel will flop in China, and will rely heavily on its domestic gross, which I doubt will replicate Black Panther’s anomalous success.
