From the ongoing Yea Forums survey, thoughts?

Do the numbers mean anything? Or are they all equally good?

I'm surprised. That's not a terrible list.

Yes, it's ranked by the number of votes that each film has received in the ongoing survey threads posted on Yea Forums throughout 2019. Here's the latest data: pastebin.com/mLe3tFBi

Spam posts have been filtered, hence the absence of films like BR 2049, which received almost triple the amount of votes at the start of the year - but has since slowed down in the last 2 weeks of voting.

I'm wondering because I'm letting you know American Psycho is better than The Thing

Well, that's what anons have voted for so far, the OP in charge of the survey threads (not me, i just format the data) usually posts them every 1-2 days, i'm assuming that it's going to run until the end of 2019, so there's plenty of time for the rankings to change.

I honestly don't think it's even serious anymore. It's fucking meme now

Eh, the OP who makes them still logs all posts and keeps the data updated, so I'm guessing it's still serious - even if the surveys never end (hence why i've uploaded the latest results)

But so there's nothing stopping people from voting multiple times? Not necessarily spamming the same shit, but a (partially) different list every time the survey gets posted?

There's a separate excel spreadsheet that logs every posted list, similar and semi-similar lists can be identified and filtered, i'll find the link once the archive's back up

most of those movies are way overrated

Oh I believe you user, just curious. I voted quite early on and I've been wondering if my list got counted at all, but seeing the pastebin 2 of my picks are in there with one vote each :') so I think it's safe to assume that's me.

Honestly I didn't think this much effort went into it, I'm impressed!

LOL fucking plebs

>Inception not in the top 20
Shit list

What rating system do you guys use?

It deserves a place in the top 100, yes, but shifting through all of the spam posts is a lot of work. It'll be re-introduced once an accurate number can be deduced. The survey started when BR 2049 was the hottest meme of the month, and it got carried to the top with triple the amount of votes of second place. Now, it's received very little votes in the last 2-3 weeks of polling. It's a huge contrast.

Why was BvS omitted?

Surprised Jesse James isn't there

see
Spam posts, there was a sudden outpouring of top five posts like:

>BvS
>BvS
>BvS
>Black Panther
>BR 2049

it was awful

Because it's shit

It just about made the top 100 in the previous update, it's lost a few places since then

>4 out of the top 10 are about incels
>it doesn't even include 2049 which would make it half

It could be worse:

Oh, it is beta alright

this list is objectively worse, but there's a few choices this list has that i think belongs in Yea Forums's list like Whiplash, The Prestige, ex machina to name a few.

All of those are hovering just outside of the 100 mark, they'll probably re-enter the list as the year goes on

>Love Exposure
What is this meme

I'm not surprised by its cult following, it seems like a film made for Yea Forums

>Shining is number 8
same on my personal favourite films list
AYY

It's embarrassing seeing in in the top 20. Also what's with Eyes Wide Shut being that high? The normalfags have definitely overtaken this place, that movie concetrates on bluepill shit like "muh cheating in a relationship" cringeshit.

This is such basic bitch shit like why does this list exist lmao

>American Psycho is better than The Thing
nope

>Love Exposure
I've been in a few of the survey threads and don't remember seeing a single vote for this.

I wouldn't say EWS is normalfag territory, it's one of Kubrick's lesser-watched films, pleb discussion revolves around either The Shining or the first act of FMJ

>No Country For Old Men

For some reason this movie knocks me right out. I've tried watching it 5 times but I never make it past 60 minutes without falling asleep.

I saw it pop up a fair few times, the margins are rather tight: only 1 vote separating it from 19th (Mulholland Dr.) and 21st (No Country For Old Men)

It's normalfag territory because of the themes. It's certainly one of his lesser-known and lesser-watched movies.
I'd say FMJ is the most normalfag movie Kubrick ever made. It's so accessible that if someone finds it boring, he's in the "never gonna make it" tier. The Shining strikes a fine balance between being a movie normalfags can watch, but also having deeper themes and symbolic.

>that movie concetrates on bluepill shit like "muh cheating in a relationship" cringeshit
kys my man

*18th and 20th, my mistake
