I know Marvel Comics hates Scarlet Witch, but why didn't the MCU use Wanda as their "Wonder Woman"? She's literally a perfect choice. She's got her own lore, she's got connections to Doctor Strange and Doctor Doom, characters that will be used down the road, and she can be used in X-Men stuff. Plus, she can carry her own film. And above all Lizzie is cute and everyone loves her. Why toss aside what you have for a gamble? Especially since said gamble is Carl Manvers, a character that's nothing special and hasn't ben able to make an impression in all her years of existence?
