You sound like a pleb. Also name one thing wrong with "Blue Ruin". It is by definition almost a perfect film.

It was last attempt to flip the revenge plotline on it's head, in a way that didn't end up working very well at all. It's less powerful to see a son sacrifice his life to avenge his parents than vice versa.
Also a few of the action scenes appear cobbled together as a result of the low budget.
Green room is a much better movie, but even that one is just average-good.
I repeat; you need to watch more movies (hint: if you can pick a single favorite at all, you haven't seen enough).

objectively not even friedkins best work but it's still something that has captivated me since i first saw it, something about the mixture of big gnarly black smoke spewing trucks and the pristine jungle, that last leg all drenched in moonlight and that alien landscape of hoodoos or whatever they're called. it's one of the most entrancing things i've seen on film, the color grading in that sequence that is. so blue so beautiful.

been meaning to see this for ages, but now that i've been to Japan it hurts in a way to see anything about Japan, it fills me with an unendurable sense of longing to go back. i'm not even a weeb, never was before i went and still i'm not but i get it now. there's still a part of me just wandering the back streets of Tokyo. there's something about the place.

For me it's the cold synths of Tangerine Dream underlining the whole movie is what did the trick. Sorcerer is great by itself but those gave it an extra oomph.

Also Patrick Stewart was a detriment to the movie. It felt weird seeing him there almost as if he felt um or uncomfortable playing his role.
