There are only two viable options: the original run and Wish You Were Here, and even then the point of these comics is gore porn. You could adjust it in such a way that they just get super violent instead of depraved, but then there are weird loose ends in the story like who fucks who.

The main Crossed series and the web WYWH was pretty solid all around with some excellent parts but Crossed+ was really shitty. They even got a kikestarter going on to record a webseries as far as I remember. But honestly this will never happen.

That was probably peak Crossed-kino. IIRC the ending was a bit of a wet fart but it was the most enjoyable story of the lot, given I've still got 25 issues of Badlands left to read and all of the new 100+ series.

I could love a setting where humanity must confront the absolute edge point of evil, the most obscene and nightmarish scenarios like the cover arts for all Crossed books. It could be extremely interesting and engrossing and not just for mere bile fascination which sold most of the series, seeing how characters react and change in the world around them, those that rise and those that get broken by the circumstances.
The problems arise first with Ennis, whilst writing some of the better parts of the IP which you'd expect being the originator, wrote it with the intention of flipping the bird to survivalists with Zombie plans saying fuck you try dealing with this pricks. This kills the crab, and the setting. Making every story an exercise of horrible people in a horrible setting with horrible endings makes an audience learn to shrug off and feel apathy once the first few gore splash images are over.

I'm not asking for Fist of the North Star Crossed edition, but the juvenile nihilism sabotaged and sadly outnumbered the better parts of the story. Like that poor infected wretch who relives the same moments to infection before the grief makes him imbibe and make his own amnesia. That's a good dark story better than a LOT of the gore schlock prevalent everywhere else.

I do know that was the story I enjoyed the most but for whatever reason I dimly remember the ending being a bit of a letdown. Most Crossed would be dead in not weeks but THE week, the series tries to justify the hordes still being active years after the outbreak by saying the smarter lived but there still is no real justification for the mass hordes after a few days of skull fucking and shit eating. These aren't zombies, they aren't immune to disease or disability, tard rage only gets you so far.

It was definitely a neat and clever bit of world building, but all armies crumbling even if taken by surprise is still absolute bullshit, but for the sake of the setting we must just shrug it off like all zombie-lite universes.

But then the nun's group got too bored and raided the flotilla murdering most everyone anyway, and the survivors turned crossed rammed the cruise ships into the island and burned everything down, which resulted in shakey having to execute his preggers gf

forgot to mention shakey specifically passed a note off to the captain to warn her the islanders would double cross them in the hope they'd take hostage his gf, the islanders thought the flotilla combatants would be ashore taking oil, which was the original plan, but delayed that a day since they knew the islanders were going to raid them. but again they got nuked by the nuns crossed gang anyway since they ironically were noguns compared to the brit islanders

it starts out a bit slow, ramps it up to eleven, kind of stumbles at a point(you'll know the point when you get to it), goes back to 11, then kind of loses some of the luster like any series that tries to explain its origins. ending is pretty fucking nuts though and goes out pretty well.
Start at the beginning, since Kurono is the main character and his arc spans the entire series. the anime, other than a great opening and closing song, can be skipped.

Definitely don't skip Gantz:0, it was still on netflix last I checked, you don't have to know the story to even enjoy it since it follows it's own timeline, I liken to Akira in that you should watch it if only to see the effects and care put into the animation, plus I've never seen an adaptation match it's source so damn well, from visuals to sound.

By sheer weight of course you can find better stories in badlands than in the first few volumes of the series, but even the biggest Crossed fan can't deny there is a LOT of shit making up the Badlands run.

Which stories did you not like. I dont remember reading any story that felt like time wasted. I blew through volumes 1 family value paychopath and all of badlands in like a week or two. I cant think of one story that just pissed me off and felt like time wasted. There were just some stories that werent as good as the others. I enjoyed the fact that so many people got to tell their own stories in this world and that some of them had a multi arc stories. Ill do a quick wiki read of all the badland stories to see if I didnt like any of them but me not remembering a story isnt an indicator of me not liking it I am prone to remember things that piss me off moreso than those that bring me joy.

Ultimately, while being as edgy as it is most of the issues can be adapted in different genres.

The introduction would be a subversion of typical zombie apocalypse "group of survivors traveling to a safe zone" demonstrating how horrifyingly worse this situation is than a typical zombie apocalypse.

Then we can move to shorter stories like the psycho analysis on the crossed which would be more contanined, Psycho ark which would be straight up horror, then move on to religious community of survivors getting destroyed then finishing it off with intelligent crossed Smokey story line.

The salt scene is of course should pretty much hit the viewer over the head and they should go all out.

I didnt read preacher all I know is that its not just him writing it. Badlands has a plethora of authors. The world he sets up has endless possibilities and the setting is always changing. There are some really good stories in here and its not just the edgy try hard trash you are viewing it as right now

Most crossed pregnancies end in self mutilation abortion but some crossed will voluntarily or involuntarily hold the baby and give birth. You need to read badlands though also you gave up before yellowbelly. You should at least read yellow belly if you intend to give it up after tonight. If the first volume, family values or psychopath(which is continued throughout badlands) does nothing for you give the three or four issue volume with the carnival of chaos with the biggest pussy as your main character.
