>going from tom cruise to amazon
what's going through his mind right now?
Yes
Fuck the casting looks really good
I hope it's as comfy as the book
I hope it captures the stand by me/it vibes with the children. Really they're the heart of the story, even if Crowley and Aziraphale are the primary characters.
the cgi looks iffy but i'm sure it will be great fun, been waiting for this ever since they announced the leads.
that said why is famine black? wasn't he described as white with a black beard in the book?
also i like that hamm's in this, he has great comedic talent
>that said why is famine black?
This is one example of changing the race of a character in a way that absolutely makes sense.
The trailer makes it look like a film, not a TV show
Oh shit, Hamm's in this? He's honestly funny. I'm kinda hyped now... It's strange, really. I haven't been excited for anything in... years.
They released the opening titles too: youtube.com
Bit long but hey, everyone will skip them anyway
>that said why is famine black?
because all the modern famine countries are black.
Adam with the kids were the comfiest story, the hunter with the witch the cutest, hope they pull it off.
casting looks fucking tight
It actually looks really faithful to the book
he's described in the book wearing all black with black hair and short black beard
It's three stories in one in many ways. They're all completely separate until the end. I think Gaiman and Pratchett worked really well together in getting the right balance of comedy/fantasy/pathos, so I'm hoping it really pulls that off in the show.
and where there white countries starving at the time of the book's writing?
famine was a dietician, his visual appearance is that of a well-adjusted businessman, unrelated to any current famines
maybe i'm just remembering it wrong
always wondered who wrote which parts
i'm guessing pratchett wrote the kids
I don't think it's that easy to say actually. I think they shared a lot of it as I can't specify what Gaiman did. Everything that's not played for laughs I suppose.
ok you win, it's bad and wrong casting. don't make 50 threads crying about it please.
>May 31st
JUST PUT IT OUT ALREADY
Honestly they should have updated it and set it in the US. It being in Britain only makes sense in the book
>honestly they should have ruined it at the first opportunity
fuck sake
Looks good. Not sure how they got away with some many white people in the main roles and minorities as bad guys though.
What's the deal with the Square UFO?
what about it? UFOs have only ever been sighted to their side so they could be any number of shape other than circle
If you want the genuine reason: It's all fabricated by Adam. It's what he imagines a UFO would look like.
Read the book.
Thanks.
>Jack Whitehall
It was looking fine until that happened
He's an awful comedian but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as an actor.
Their story is the least important anyway.
neva4get
Wow, they actually made that look terrible.
Yeah I'm not a fan. It doesn't matter much though
Imagine having Mr Blobby be infinitely more funny than you are and you claim to be a comedian.
>that said why is famine black?
Ever been to Africa?
A bit? It goes on forever
God it's the first show I've been hyped for in ages
I feel so bad for hating the book. I love the authors so much, but the book just never caught my interest.
You should feel bad
Based casting
Am I the only one who is absolutely and completely sick of English culture, mythology and so on in series? It looks kinda interesting, but I can't bring myself to watch another thing in London with all the stupid cliches and crap.
It was amazing reading the book and realizing that every single interesting part was written by Gaiman. You could see the shift in quality when the other loser took over more to the end. Actually made me cringe
Based baitposter
War is my new redheadfu.
Looks like kino
