Yeah there is about 40 minutes of the film that was cut out and has never been shown.

Kubrick showed a rough cut to executives and a huge fight broke out over some of the scenes. It reported was very heated. 3 hours later Kubrick died. The execs removed 40 minutes of footage, plus censored most of the nudity and released a neutered version in cinema. Then then nudity was put back in for VHS/DVD/BD release but the other 40 minutes is never seeing the light of day.

It's a shame. I really wonder what got them so worried. If the Illuminati sex orgy was allowed in, but something else got cut. Makes me wonder. So you must go in knowing that Eyes Wide Shut is a butchered film that was not allowed to be completed, it's still good though.

To be honest, your claim of only 22 seconds being cut is the first time I've ever heard it. It seems absurd. Where the fuck did you find that? Maybe that is 22 seconds of cut footage that we know what it was, but there is another 20-40 mins (we don't even know how much, it's an estimate) of footage that we have no idea what it is. I did a google search of Eyes Wide Shut cut scenes just then and literally every hit was talking about minimum 21 minutes cut. And it makes sense. Leelee Sobieski's role i the finished film is clearly left unfinished for what she did, and it's likely a majority of her scenes get cut. IIRC Cruise mentioned a lot of scenes he filmed not making it into the movie, as well as Kidman and others.

After the screening, Kubrick tells Terry Semel that the final cut will be 2 hours and 19 minutes long. What they saw that night was 2 hours and 39 minutes long. And it so happens that the cut we do have today is 2 hours and 39 minutes and 1 second. I don't know about a 22 second cut, and I especially don't know about any 20 or 40 minute cut. I believe it's just a story that goes around on the internet. I question those who claim that it's true, I don't think they have any legit sources at all.

How do "we" know that it's between 20-40 minutes? There is nothing to suggest that there is a cut at all, and Kubrik himself has said that the cut shown that day was the same lenght as the cut we have today. If anything his final cut would've been much shorter (2h 19m by his own words).

Kubrick was a heavy smoker for almost his whole life, he even was a chainsmoker up until his mid 30s. During the shooting of EWS he also slept much too less He became very frail, ill-looking and pale during the shooting. Is it still possible he was murdered? Yes, sure it is. But in my opinion, it is highly unlikely. I think it would be a stupid move. Why kill him, make him a "martyr" and pull so much attention on the movie itself by doing so? This is just stupid. He was on the brink of collapsing/dying anyway.

There are no deleted scenes. Sure, they filmed hours and hours of footage that didn't make it into the final cut, but the Warner Execs didn't dare to touch the cut they saw, because Kubrick had very very tight contracts made which forbid them to do so, if they even had wanted to. Kubrick was obligated to deliver a movie with an R-rating, so what they chose to do was superimposing some cloaked figures over some sex acts. It would have been easier for the Warner Execs to cut those scenes to receive the required rating, but they didn't dare to, because the contract with Kubrick forbid ANY cuts not approved by himself. But part of the truth also is that Terry Semel and Daly, Warner Execs at the time then, were fired/had to step down not too long after EWS was released because they gave Kubrick so much power over this poject (as it usually was the case for later Kubrick films). But some people at Warner didn't take that so well anymore after the film was released and they made them step down/fire him.
