Name a better horror movie than this in recent years. Protip: you cannot.
Name a better horror movie than this in recent years. Protip: you cannot
I really can't.
Slenderman
Literally any horror movie that is actually scary, soibrain.
hereditay
>being scared by a horror movie
Yea Forums is an 18+ website kiddo
I cannot
>calls someone kiddo
>hasn't advanced far enough in school to learn where periods and commas go
They should probably stop calling them horror movies then, faggot dunce. :^)
This movie was ridiculous. It goes into free fall as soon as the mother attends the initial seance.
>still in the muh grammar phase of his life
I estimate 15 at most
Fuck, you showed me!!!!
>still in the white phase of his life
What did the shitskin mean by this? I bet you actually listen to rap.
>!!!!
Mad or teenage girl?
name 1
I would but you're not in charge here.

I need answers
it's not even a fuckin horror movie, horror is specifically defined as having horrific elements. what was horrific, besides the femcel grinding up babies to rub on her love handles? the rest of the movie is just a muh atmosphere drama that relies too much on sound design and muh epic silences
Hereditay was objectively superior in every way other than not having a cute blond ayylian.
>its bad because it doesn't stay heady and psychological the whole time!
mark of the pseudointellectual pleb. This movie has two filters. One for the meatheads who are bored with the slow drama and one for the 'connoisseurs' who get mad that the movie has some haunted house horror fun. Every event in the climax of hereditary is set up in advance. Its the boiling point of the cults machinations and paimons mischief. Its jarring for people because the audience is only given the perspective of the family, and all the hints and foreshadowing are easily glanced over without the context of the plot as a whole. hereditary rules. the witch is arguably better though.
This, harditay is best
The horror of being isolated and having your fervently superstitious family turn on you.
soi garbage
You forgot the third, those who couldn't get past the son's mediocre acting
>Infographic arguments
The fail safe sign of a brainlet
It's a thriller at best. I really can't understand the hype behind this, and no I'm not a brainlet who couldn't understand what they were saying- It was just boring.
Thats not an even infographic, nice try soi cuck
>posted from my soiphone
Ya seethe?
Ya stew?
Ya boil?
Ya brew?
It's literally nothing but losers who waifud the actress.
>let's pretend it's scary
lol do you find horror movies scary?
What a pathetic child
I couldn't get into it because I know Anya is some Argentinean thot IRL and not a pure puritan young woman
This made me cringe
>I'm such a mature dull adult I can't even feel human emotions anymore so cool I am
This is probably in my top ten favourite bait images of all time. I watched it evolve over the last year now it's all grown up and looking so handsome.
it's fucking trash, and if you think that this is in any way sophisticated because it makes use of cinematographic effects beyond basic capeshit or romcom, you need to watch some more films.
are there any good horror movies? i can't recall seeing one that was actually scary
The movie was watchable but didn't leave that much of an impression to me. Glad i got to see it before it became hyped though.
Anglo-Scottish-Argentinean precisely.

What’s that movie that has random snuff films in it! It’s like some demons or some shit.
One of them is a family getting mowed down by the lawn mower.
>the shining
>the exorcist
>alien
Okay this is epic
lmao brainlet
Hereditary is fucking fantastic for the first 1h20 minutes or so, where Toni Collete is trying to understand what's happening and you as a viewer have no idea as well, it's like you're losing your mind with her and it's frightening, but then the ending is just so freaking goofy. Like, i understand that movie has to have an ending and the other side of the spectrum(it's just mental illness) would've been weak as well, but those last 15-20 minutes just lose all the tension and atmosphere.
Sinister?
The amount of boring, absolutely paper thin excuses for absurd exposition dumps during the first hour is attrocious. It has its moments early on and tanks later sure, but pretending it's engaging throughout the entire first two acts is just not true.
That movie is fucking weird and is for fucking weirdos. OP = weirdo.
An adult being frightened by make believe is the true cringe here
Boring film.
Any1 seen this? It's not the best horror of the decade or anything, but it's...interesting. It weirdly felt like an Ed Gein biopic in a way, where main character is so horrible and cruel, but it's because they're incredibly ill and just desire human connection and don't know how to deal.
>What is Hereditary
Ghost Stories.
Most kino horror film since Dead of Night. Was supposed to be a sequel of sorts to it, after all.
Robert Eggers has a new film coming out this year: The Lighthouse. Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe are in it. It's set in 1890s and it's shot in black white on 35mm film. Is it going to be kino?
Does 5 years count as recent?
This movie was ok but it wasn't scary. Felt more like a movie about a woman realizing that slutting it up isn't all it's cracked up to be than the alien abduction horror movie it was pretending to be.
Was unsettling and thought provoking kind of but felt kind of pointless. better than both The Witch and Hereditary, though
The waves/sea scene is very unsettling
user, I...
Sure, but it was an isolated scene with a predictable payoff when she grabs his body after the more subversive, unsettling scene where the dog drowns, woman drowns, and he fails to save them.
A gripping scene that loses its bite when recontextualized by the movie with scarjo just grabbing the dude at the end like that whole scene was just dressing.
Not really a horror, but it would be my number 1 choice for the scariest scene of the decade, i still constantly think about the beach scene, it's just so fucking brutal in a very realistic way that can happen to anyone
it's alright but Witch is better
If that's horror then something like Boy Erased is also a "horror" film
How many people on this board have even seen this film
I keep trying to shill for it but get ignored every time
I enjoyed this a lot more than most.
Came here just to post this
It's a little mediocre, I really hated that they had to have an ebin twist at the end.
Whats the one on the far right in the A24 trio of cuck? I liked the witch and hereditay
I end up feeling like a lot of horror movies are mediocre. Anyway hereditary was pretty mediocre. Nothing about that shit made the faintest bit of sense. The witch was mediocre, too.
I can get fully on board with a "thriller" in terms of viewing it as "cinema" but horror just seems like a one-note genre.
Many of the best films ive ever seen (the last wave, woman in the dunes, original vanishing) are like borderline horror but it's almost like theyre too complex in tone to completely qualify for the genre.
I think it's it comes at night
I liked this a lot. I went in expecting it to be a typical demonic/paranormal modern horror movie and was pleasantly surprised at the direction they took. Tons of quiet moments, cold atmosphere, no jumpscares, a lot of ambient music, no excessive exposition or needless character development, perfect runtime. Good stuff.
this was a clusterfuck
Protip I can OP.
It was good but the Witch was better.
this was superior to the Vitch in every way.
*dabs on every horror film from the past decade*
Whoever made that likely has autism.
Yep that was it thank you user. Just went to jack it so just saw this.
>someone took the time to make that image
that's some kind of extreme autism
I bet you're a fag that says The Shining isn't a horror movie either, fucking pleb
>old women floating isn't goofy
Really liked this one espeically the historically setting an the relation of witches in the local folklore
Are there any other horror movies with a similar premise?
This movie fucking sucked.
>le olde colonial slow burner
Fuck this shit.
found footage isnt film
You would have bitched and complained if it didn't have a horror-movie like ending just like you fags did with The Babadook (it's all in their minds bro! lol weak, not horror) but the director decided to market it in that way specifically to give you an actual pure horror movie and contrarian faggots still complain. The Exorcist is probably goofy to you too, why don't you fags just admit that you don't like horror movies and you don't know what makes a good one?
Why did some faggot take It Follows off of this?
>the vvitch
>horror
the genre is “hackneyed liberal wanking”
STOP IT
its literally exactly like paranormal activity
