Yeah, he's a hack. The problem is that he sold the franchise to people who are worse then him.

Lucas only ever made a few mistakes with the prequels (Jar Jar, Anakin and Padme's cringefest romance, etc.), but even WITH all of that, the prequels are on an entire universe above the dogshit that's being shat out in theaters now even (especially) by the largest studios.

Stop trying so hard. Nobody likes your generation and it is your generation that will be forgotten. The prequels are wildly popular now, even though everyone shittalked them when they came out. Because plebs had never seen a star war before them and 1: didn't understand them and 2: thought they could score points by shitting on something popular to seem like rebels. The prequels are quoted online constantly because they're fun. Unlike here where BANE? is quoted constantly because directors like Nolan really are fucking hacks and the scene was so fucking bad it was unintentionally hilarious.

When the prequels came out, OT fans still supported the movies for the most part because they knew that it was Lucas finishing his story. The question at the time, and still remains, is why did he destroy the canon he set up in the OT? Once that canon was shit on, it was hard to take the PT as seriously as we were supposed to.

There was a bit of discontinuity, but the thing was, Star Wars fans liked the prequels anyway. They were good movies in their own right and I would argue that Phantom Menace is either the first or second best Star Wars movie, even WITH Jar Jar's shit. It's the plebs who are the problem. It's the plebs who are always the problem. They like nothing but what is popular. And they are just as likely to shit on anything popular to get attention. The reason the sequels are memed now is because all the fucking normalniggers have fucked off and forgotten something existed they weren't invested in in the first place and now only the people who are watching them because they like them are even mentioning them.
