Hereditary, Get Out, It Follows, A Quiet Place, Don't Breath, It Comes At Night, and The Conjuring are all garbage. Horror movies are dead and have been dead since the 80s.

Those aren't even the same type of horror. You just took all the highly rated ones and stuck em together.
Lazy troll desu
> I grew up in the 80s
> I hate younger generations because I wasted my youth being sad and alone
You could've just said that, instead you tryna bait
>I'm a zoomer
you could have just said that
>I grew up in the 80s
I grew up in the 2000s
First post worst post faggot. He's completely right, they are all shit.
Will MIDSOMMAR be kino tho?
youtu.be
Looks like a shit version of the wicker man.
I got Suspiria vibes desu
Its modern horror without drunk college kids and top 40 songs so Yea Forums hates it.
The last recent horror movie I saw that I liked wasn't very good. it was called Night Shift and it took place on a girls first night working at a hotel.
I unironically liked Happy Death Day more than any of this shit.
there never is an elaboration about what makes a good horror movies in these threads.
what's the problem, are you lazy ? dumb? not creative? not critical? why can't you articulate what seems to be a problem to you in a positive way: explain what you want out of a good new horror movie. dont be a knee jerk reactive lil cunt, i think we all are running out of patience with em.
The sequel was a nice little scifi comedy but barely horror.
What the fuck is wrong with that kid's face, I legit thought it was some sort of goblin makeup at first
just a regular american girl
theyve been bad for decades now but a few decent ones in the piles of crap
>the ritual
>willow creek
were both decent, in my opinion. Im still salty that this place recommended a quiet place though, that was pure and unadulterated crap.
>saves horror singlehandedly
Hereditary was great.
>>saves horror singlehandedly
I thought witch was very beautiful and captured the feel of 18th century homesteading well, it was ultimately shallow and had no real direction. Also not the least bit frightening.
I thought It Follows was entertaining. The rest are shit though.
>implying that literally any horror film is scary at this point
It Follows, Hereditary and VVitch are all great. I also liked Babadook
>Horror movies are dead and have been dead since the 80s.
t. boomer who dumb slasher
No he couldn't have, because he's right.
It's because we're on a board filled mostly with shitposting kids who actually have no idea to discuss differing views without slinging shit at one another.
That and the fact horror is incredibly subjective leaving viewers with a highly visceral and personal experience.
If you want moderated discussions, why don't you go back to where you came from, redditor?
Associating the simple idea of having a conversation only screams how new you are.
no u
pleb. You have shit taste in horror films.
>80s slasher babs
Out. 70s suspense/horror is for patricians.
damn Brie Larson looking rough these days
>>implying that literally any horror film is scary at this point
Willow Creek was legitimately scary, but probably only if you've ever camped alone in the woods.
Same but hdd2 was fucking terrible.
This movie was really something, 70s vibes.
Horror/Thriller is the best horror because it’s not about stupid ass jump scares.
Straight horror just can’t work anymore because so much of the genre has been rapped to death.
You guys should start.
My issue is that most of these modern "horror" movies are just dark psychological fantasy/drama films as opposed to true horror. Hereditary was interesting for what it was, but at no point did I feel a sense of terror or dread while watching it. I think the only reason any of these films are classified as "horror" is because it's a simpler and more marketable label than calling them what they are. I mean if something like It Comes at Night is a horror film, then the genre label has no meaning. Hollywood stopped making good true horror films back in the early 2000s, when films like The Ring and Blair Witch Project were popular.
There are so many great horror films after the 80's hell even 2010+ has some good horrors, its just you people never delve enough to find good horrors and then bitch how theres no good horror films.
Name 20
Agreed. Creativity with solid good movie fundamentals built around it are a hard thing to come by these days. You either get one or the other.
Cronenberg comes to mind, you have absolutely insane horrifying images that are fostered an equally unique and creative story. It cultivates an unforgettable feeling and movie.
>tfw dude behing Frank, Room and What Richard Did directed gothic horror with a bunch of great actors and nobody talks about it
Personally thought it was great, but wouldn't reccomend it to majority of people, it's slow as fuck and goes into completely unexpected direction once you realize some details about characters
Even if I did bother to write something, would you reply?
>Calling a quiet place a horror movie.
Nigga how can you be this retarded?
a quiet place is a thriller not horror movie
