Keep in mind when citing IMDB's score that it is mathematically artificially high.
You can rate from 1 star to 10 stars. That automatically skews the average high because there is no 0 star option.
For those less mathematically knowledgeable:
1+1+5+1+1+3 =12
12/6 = avg 2 star
0+0+5+0+0+3 = 8
8/6 = avg 1.3 star

IMDB rating is not just an average of all ratings. They take into account obvious attempts of manipulation, for example 3 day old accounts with only 0 or 10 ratings won't get counted.
