When will this kino get the credit it deserves...

When will this kino get the credit it deserves? Also how did Hollywood allow it to be made with all the Eyes Wide Shut level of Illuminati exposure.

>a whole bunch of nonsensical horseshit and red herrings
>main character acts irrationally and ignores basic logic, such as going to the police when that girl gets shot in front of him and he leaves her to sink into the lake and contacts no one so her body won't even get recovered and get a proper burial
>supernatural elements such as the owl lady that are completely ignored besides being used once or twice to further the so called plot
>disgusting LA aesthetic attempting to be quirky, e.g. the pirate (red herring, mind you), and hobo
>a literal close up zoom shot of a floating turd in a toilet, for no reason whatsoever
>kino
It's absolute garbage.

Forgot
>andrew garfield's faggot lisp

Incels

Explains why the trailer was out 2 years ago and I only recently saw it. It was great. Top tier conspiracy

>>a literal close up zoom shot of a floating turd in a toilet, for no reason whatsoever
there were gold flakes in that turd, I think it was making somekind of rich guy joke

When it finally comes out in theaters this April.

Nah, the only time Garfield fucked up was eating the cookie and drinking whatever was given to him

It was an interesting little movie. However, it doesn't have quite enough to push it over the hump into the truly-great category. It's on par with Inherent Vice in that it is missing something that it is hard to place a finger on.

But inherent vice is great. I still need to re-watch silver lake, I just hope there is a connection in the 2 hours. Not just a wacky series of events the director threw in there. Way better than It follows anyway

>But inherent vice is great.
Speak for yourself. I thought it merely okay, and definitely one of PTA's weakest.

I rarely turn off movies I start, but this was one of them, it was trying way too hard to emulate a pynchon style, and in doing so it became entirely superficial. Felt like a collegefilm version of Inherent Vice.
"Okay now we place these symbols here, and then they overlap in the next scene in a weird way lmao"

When did you bail?

I really enjoyed it too, anyone have any similar recs. hi-jacking for interest, was one of my favorite films from last year, a gem from a mostly shit year.

Inherent vice
Shutter island

watched both of those already, any other recs?

Nah. It's a tough genre, not many out there.
Big Lebowski
Rosemary's Baby

Yeah I know what you mean, one of my favorites though. I'd recommend Ninth Gate if you've never seen it. I've seen those too. Thanks for trying amigo.

It was written and directed by the same guy who made It Follows so try that if you haven’t seen it I guess

It looks like the director desperately wanted to make Pynchonesque movie but had no idea how to execute it

Still haven't seen that. Not conspiracy but here you go. Same humour as American Psycho.
And I just thought of another one, the Manchurian candidate remake. Underrated as fuck

It was like Widows

Well shot, but paper thin.
