What was the last film you watched that you would confidently rate 10/10?
Haven't watched a really great film in a while, need suggestions

Thank You For Smoking and The Informant are more black comedies, but I loved the Departed so maybe we have similar taste in cinema
Captain Marvel
I will admit, while I liked the whole retrowave/vaporwave aesthetic when I was like 16, it's become incredibly derivative and banal over the past 4-5 years.

Watch blade runner: the final cut
It’s the only version approved by Ridley Scott
10/10 is an overwhelming mark to hit, 5/5 is more realistic for me, the Paradise Lost Trilogy is the most recent thing I saw for the first time that was pretty great, The Aviator is one I've seen before and still holds up, if you want something a little off-the-wall try Happiness by Todd Solondz or Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story by Todd Haynes
what kind of retard logic is this? 10/10 is harder to hit than 5/5? they're both perfect scores, implying that one single flaw would relegate the film to a lower score. there should be no quality difference between a perfect film (5/5) and a perfect film (10/10)
so what you're saying is that if I were target shooting, hitting 5 targets out of 5 is the same as hitting 10 targets out of 10?
except you're watching one single movie. in theory it could be that we just see the concept of a perfect film differently.
5/5 would look like this:
1. Story
2. Camera
3. Sound
4. Editing
5. Originality
10/10 would look like:
1. Story
2. Camera
3. Sound
4. Editing
5. Originality
6. Music
7. Costumes
8. Special Effects
9. Makeup
10. Acting
I tend to simplify things, I find some of the things on the list of 10 to be redundant, "Sound" covers "Music," Costumes, Makeup and Special Effects can only be judged by how appropriate they are to the Story, Acting as well, I would just as soon rate a movie by Three:
1. Story
2. Technique
3. Originality
Even "Originality," isn't an adequate standard, "The Departed," isn't very original and it's still a great movie, "Mother," was pretty original, didn't make it good. That movie "Superstar," it isn't such an original story but the way it's told is very original.
What's this style called?
look at all the professional critics itt
yeah i can't say i've really seen a 10/10 movie. i mean i rate goodfellas 10/10 but the book was better
