I liked Finn in the first one because he had potential, then TLJ came out

I like him because he’s flawed and lacks proper guidance and struggled to become independent after his parents and extended family sold him a false bill of goods. He’s quiet, angsty and is desperate to forge his own path whatever the costs. He’s very relatable I imagine to a lot of guys between 15-25. His arc continues to develop in the films whereas others stay stagnant, he’s the only character besides Luke who has an arc. I’m not even saying it’s a good arc or a good character, but he’s the only believably human character in the film.

He grew in characterization, he faced hardships, he became a badass in the third movie after everything he went through in the previous two movies and even defeated Darth Vader

He was set up to be "not-vader" based on all the info leading into the film but ended up being a very different character to Vader and something new. His "Kylo wanted to be hardcore but his mom wouldn't let him" personality is enjoyable and has always had a lot of ways to grow.
