He understands character, emotion and story but he simply doesnt have the skill to write a script. Its his weakness. His eye for visual storytelling and characters is unmatched. Anakin himself has a flawless actor choice with the perfect looks, body language and costume to pull it off. The overall arc and design of the character (hard life leads into an angry man who treasures love and friendship above everything and gets manipulated by a madman/politician to weaponizing him out of these "weaknesses"). Anakin/ Hayden simply got hit the hardest because at least the elite like Samuel and McGregor had SOME balls to challenge George and attempt to take the lead themselves to outdo the fundamentally broken dialogue and a lack of efficient direction.

The prequels are nigh flawless movies with one crucial flaw and its literally the fucking dialogue. Look at this video, someone fucking changed the dialogue (and I doubt he spent as much time as anyone making a movie would) using a dub to mask the spoken language. There is literally nothing wrong with the movie underneath but the characters are simply hammering home Georges biggest weakness every time they open their mouths, and the prequels were bound to be more complex and dialogue heavy than the originals in the first place

I think those juxtaposition of those elements also makes the dialogue in the prequels memorable for the reasons you stated because the actors are effectively working against it to convey the sentiment on the page and it makes almost every line stick out in some fashion.

Most people would shit on ring theory but they're layers to Lucas's ideas that are still being expounded upon twenty years later. I think ultimately regardless of how disney either turns the ship around or doesn't, Lucas will end up being most pivotal of the foursome.

I can actually get down with VI and III being that high if space warfare is your thing, as those episodes are the most kino in that regard.

I had some decent parts and I'd consider moving it up, but there are too many awful parts. And it's hard to put 4 over 7 without looking at ANH through rose tinted glasses.

A simple comparison of the characters and protagonists in particular shows how much better ANH is. TFA is basically anh for retards+spooky force ghosts in lightsaber and orange yoda with vagina. It doesn't have the gravity of ANH, feels more like a fanfiction of self insert characters into ANHs framework.
