Is this any good?
Is this any good?
>people still feel the need to ask if a netflix show is good
I expect this from a twitter feed
>Castlevania
>Devilman
>Alita
Gonna assume its good then
Watched the first three episodes. It's alright. I like the action/fight scenes, but everything else is a bit meh.
Watch if it you have time, but don't go out of your way to make time for it.
punchable kid on the poster was a pleasant surprise, he can actually act.
Ellen is really hot in this
It's good enough that it's frustrating how not good it is
>castlevania
low budget garbage from a man who never grew up. fundamentally misses the entire point of the series and isn't nearly stylish enough to make up for the lack of substance.
>Devilman
made by japs with netflix money. barely counts.
>Alita
has literally nothin g to do with netflix even tangentially.
Better than Drive
wow... you could land a Boeing 747 on that fivehead
Damn, Vanya looks like that?
What is the point of the series?
Yeah
I just can't handle the gay discount Jack Sparrow dude.
I dropped it after the second episode.
I'm enjoying it so far but fuck me Ellen Page is the worst part of this by a mile, her acting is atrocious
He tones down towards the end and isn't so over the top wacky.
>netflix
>fag
>stronk black woman
>poo
>the amazing receding hairline
>big doofy white dude
What the fuck do you think?
Exactly, he's over the top on drugs at the beginning. I didn't mind the show, it didn't take itself too seriously for the most part. I'd watch season 2.
>fag becomes less faggy
>stronk black woman becomes useless after getting her throat cut
Just read the comic, It'll save you hours of your life. It's also more entertaining.
It's cool enough that if they get their shit together it could become amazing but they'll likely waste all that potential completely.
Basically
watched the first episode. that will do for me
no. ellen doesn't have tits like that.
It's fun enough but a little slow at some points, watch it if you have the time.
the fag is literally a best and almost makes the show worth watching
5 is the best on the show.
this no contest, but klaus definitely grew on me more than anyone else over the course of it.
Does she secretly have powers but hasn't been in a situation to discover them yet? I didn't get past episode 5.
Yes
What is it? I'm asking to be spoiled. I was kinda interested but I don't have the attention span to watch much tv shows anymore.
Yeah, I'll admit that Klaus was a better character at the end of the show.
>family full of special ability kids
>except this one, she's totally ordinary, not the most powerful *wink wink*
pretty standard trope, if anyone doesn't see it coming within an episode or two they need a slap. if you really want to know and haven't figured it out she's the cause of the apocalypse
I figured that. And I'm guessing the pills were suppressing her power.
I watched like 3 or 4 episodes and dropped it after theybasically show off their powers and then when they fight 2 people with guns they all suck cock. Fucking bitch with mind control powers doesnt use them because "I'm mad". The giant strong guy gets fucking beaten in an unarmed fight. Guy that can throw knives and never miss throws 2 knives that hit metal helmets and then has no more knives. 5 is shown to immediately kick the ass of like 6 guys with AR15s and is super cock about it but 2 people are too much and he doesnt even fucking try. I can't stand the fucking decisions this show makes. Why did 5 ask the truck guy for directions to a shopping center, stake out the company for like 2 days and then only go to the shopping center after the other 2 got the info from truck guy too. I CAN'T FUCKING STAND ELEN PAGE NAD HER UGLY FACE. took me 2 episodes to like klaus but doing the fightclub pretending to get beaten up thing doesnt work when you're in a GLASS OFFICE WITH PEOPLE CLEARLY VISIBLE BEHIND THE GUY WHAT THE FUCK.
wanted to like it/10
I know you're expressing your opinion, but you have to make it easier to read. This looks like 1 giant sentence.
of course coz he's the oldest.
I was too angry to break it up but I did use periods.
THIS, 5 was consistently my favorite but i did like Clause and Luther a lot too
>Devilman
>Good
It was utter garbage made for edgy teenagers
yes, also when they were kids the dad made the other sister use her mind control on her so she thinks she's normal
I do agree that it had the potential to be great. I also wanted to like it but it just was very average to me.
>I CAN'T FUCKING STAND ELEN PAGE NAD HER UGLY FACE
this. it bothers me because hair and makeup and she'd look fine. it's distracting how bad she looks in the show. she's not ugly, she just has a five or sixhead and you have to address that. i feel like she made a decision to go with a more "natural" look and no one had the balls to tell her she just looked bad. it reminded me of an interview tom hanks' son did about gaining weight for a role. and he said his dad (tom hanks) told him
>no, don't put on weight for the role people will just think you're a fat slob
The problem is that she acts autistic while looking like what she thinks an average person looks like and her face is just in a constant sulk. She's an obnoxious character that has no likable traits whatsoever and a personality as interesting as a blank (Elen) page. She's also a cunt outside the role which doesn't help.
It was also knowing that sh was obviously going to have powers that were going to be huge that also pissed me off too.
>I heard a rumor that you love me
A literal rapist
How come Hazel was able to beat the living shit out of the entire Academy almost by himself? Isn't he just a regular dude?
His thirst for the 60 year old donut merchant empowers him
Yeah, this part was the biggest issue I had with the series, which I guess is saying something.
Overall, it was a fun time, most of the performances range from serviceable to good and I'm looking forward to more. This feels like it's very much on the verge of either being great or completely dropping ball next season.
Five was probably the highlight of the show, followed by Klaus.
This, except Klaus was obviously the highlight.
And I usually detest capeshit. The fact that I not only could sit through this but found it somewhat enjoyable surprised me.
I think Five impressed me a lot just because the kid sold the shit out of being a 50-something man who is fed up with every damn thing. I do love the actor for Klaus and he did great in this role. It's kind of a toss up but I give it to Five just for how impressive it is for someone his age.
when he held his own against gorllia boy, I'd assume no, they're not just regular guys. I'm guessing the people who have time travel tech, in a show with super powers, can probably do a bit of genetic engineering or some shit.
Hazel and Cha-Cha are professional hitmen who work for a time travel agency. I wouldn't call him ordinary
And a child abuser that feels like her husband is an asshole for not wanting her near the kid after the divorce. "MUH KID!"
Because Luthor's power is just being hairy and getting his ass kicked.
>kid whines about not wanting to go to bed
>literally brainwashes her
The fuck
>Luther has sex with some chick at a rave
>Feels the need to apologize to a girl who raped her husband and mindfucked him into marrying her and brainwashed her own kid
She uses her powers on her own kid but not on the people that broke in and attacked her and her family with guns and is trying to kill them. How did everyone not drop this?
It doesn't make it right, but I can understand her doing it to her child. Children are really annoying sometimes and when you have to make them obey so easily it's probably really hard to resist using it. It's too much power for an ordinary person to have really
Honestly, it's more than fine. Sometimes it's boring, but overall the story is very good, and production design is top notch.
The other characters make up for it
>when you have the power to make them obey*
I'd get it if her kid was about to do something dangerous, but the kid just didn't wanna go to sleep, jesus. That's a perfectly normal kid thing to do. Have her do jumping jacks with you so she feels tired or explain to her why she needs to sleep. Don't mindrape her casually at the sign of slightest conflict.
Why are you lying?
Anyone else wants to fugg gorilla Luther?
Truthfully, I think that was a huge overreaction. I thought she did something to her kid that put her in harm. All she did was make her fall asleep.
problem is that there is basicly no action and the few action sequences are really boring. when you have a team of super-heroes at least let them do some cool shit with their powers.
so they went the total drama route, but the drama is also very boring and the conflicts between the protagonists are rather annoying.
number 7 and klaus are interesting characters, but the rest of the cast is just not.
if you have nothing better to do you can watch it, but don't expect too much.
thanks for reading my blog
she has like high level soundwave powers she can do a bunch of shit with them but the limits and stuff are never really discussed, their dad is scared of her powers being uncontrollable so he drugs her so she doesnt activate them randomly and has the rumor chick make her forget she has powers when they are kids
Because she couldn't use her power then? Were you even paying attention?
Overreaction how exactly? We saw one example of her doing it. No idea how many times she's done it before that. Her husband was even brainwashed into liking her since we hear her say "I heard a rumor that you love me"
"I love my daughter so much and I can't see her and I feel like I might die from the seperation, pitty me" - The woman that brainwashed her family and whos actions deserve nothing but contempt
>I refuse to use my power anymore cause I FEEL BAD
Shittiest trope ever.
>We want the furry audience.
Luther literally has sex with a woman because she is into furries and believes he is kind of one.
She didnt use her powers because she was mad and wanted to beat her up instead. There was nothing stopping her from using her powers besidebeing a shit character under the control of shit writers.
Then why did she try to use it later against Vanya
Overreaction in that's the only time we see that she used it on her kid. I believe she said it the only time she used it on her kid.
I hated him at first, too.
I thought he would such a character where weird people write stuff like "Klaus is so me on the weekend" or "Klaus is my spirit animal" about. He comes around though
Gorillas have really tiny dicks though, he must be a bottom.
Because she wasn't mad and didnt want to beat up her sister. This isn't rocket science you do realize?
This. The scenes between 5 and the handler were really good
He tones it down very quickly and becomes an interesting character.
Well, look at it like that.
If she uses it for such a small thing already, you can assume the uses all the time.
Klaus carried the show
Wait, so your argument is that she literally can't use her power when she's mad?
It's not bad but I found it to be a little dull at times. One of the only things I've ever liked Ellen Paige in funny enough.
That was pretty obvious from episode 1
You could, or you could look at it as a mother that was just really tired and finally decided to use her powers on her kid that night.
No, his argument is that she doesn't uses her power all the time.
He unironically is, technically speaking.
Pretty sure she said she started doing it more and more because it was so much easier. It's just she actually says what she used it the first time for.
Ah, yes. Pogo also says something like "your blood is little bit too much like mine" to him
No she doesn't use them when they would end the scene in a way the writers don't want it to go. Her powers don't shut off she just becomes retarded. It's called bad writing.
Yeah, but I assume she's been doing it for awhile. I could see her making it fall asleep when its waking up in the middle of the night crying and screaming like babies do. And then she might have gotten used to dealing with it the easy way and continued because she didn't know anything else
I wanted to hate it before watching (because evry other show i started on netflix since a long time have been diseappointement).
ITs not bad, i cant call it good but its watchable.
There things i hate tho
>Le quirky action with witty music like in Kick Ass
>Some dialogs a bit off because its an adaptation, characters are talking or refering things like i have been watching them since forever
>Humor is hit or miss (more misses than )
I prefer Doom Patrol.
Also Ellen's face and acting are sucking my vital energy, what happend to her ?
No se uses her powers on her kid, not baby. She also does it more than once but never said what for but the fact that she's using her mind control powers on her kid at all and apparently more frequently makes her a pretty fucking terrible person.
She became an old cat lady dyke.
Oh yeah she's definitely a bad person, I just think she doesn't realize it herself because it's too much power for a person to have and to resist not using it
The only thing we know for sure is that she did it once. The making him fall in love thing is unforgivable, the putting a kid to sleep isn't bad at all.
Even the Superman cartoon of the 90's had a device that put his kid to sleep instantly. In the directors comments of that episode, he said he had so many parents come up to him and say they wish that had that device to put their kid to sleep.
>allison gets mad at luther for losing his virginity
>she has a FUCKING CHILD
I thought this too, but I'm not sure she gets mad. The next scene is her telling Luther that he needs her help to call her kid. I don't think she gets mad about that.
Right? I was watching Inception last week and i had forgotten how cute she used to be.
>THAT scene in Super
Seriously, what the fuck happened ?
Old. Dumpy. Dyke
He's a half chimp, she was probably just repulsed.
>The only thing we know for sure is that she did it once.
I'm literally rewatching the scene, episode 3 at 14:25 :
"I said I'd do it that one time, only it wasn't just that one time. I told myself any parent with my power would do the same, that it wasn't wrong, I just had an advantage"
I still don't think putting your kid to sleep at night is a horrible thing to do. Unless she's doing it in the middle of the day cause she or anytime she wants to just ignore the kid.
I caught a episode here and there my wife is watching it. Pretty good, i liked it enough to ask my wife to fill in the blanks.
Mary J Blige is in it , she can act.
Watch it OP
Good taste. I really felt for Luther's character near the end. Him at the rave was goddamn hysterical.
She used her brainwashing powers on her fucking kid. More than once. Also rewatching the part she doesn't even send her to bed, her kid is just having a tantrum. her 3 year old child. Direct quote:
"I mean there were days where she would have these epic meltdowns and no matter what I'd say she wouldn't stop. She was 3 then and I know that's what 3 year olds are supposed to do. So I said I'd do it that one time..."
Did you guys hear a rumour that she only sent her kid to bed once using her powers or something because you were all way off.
I just thought it was putting her kid to sleep at night.
It was not.
Then I agree, Pogo was a chimpanzee.
She was basically arm-wrestling her 3 year old to bed.
Honestly some of the best acting I've seen
There's a guy who managed to convince me he was attracted to Ellen Paige
More like chloroform but also not even mentioning sending her 3 year old to bed in the show.
COPE. Alita was amazing.
having the power to tell people what to do would be a hell of a slippery slope to not fall down, lets be honest half the freaks on this board would turn into rape machines if they had it.
>only half
Why do you underestimate us like that?
While I was watching this I just couldn't help but wonder how badly they must have been butchering the source material.
>Ellen Page
>flamboyant man wearing makeup with a sassy message written on his hand
>black woman
I'm gonna go ahead and guess "no"
Not really. It was pretty faithful to the source material. If anything, the show improved on some stuff like Hazel and Cha Cha.
What ethnicity is that younger guy in the front supposed to be?
Mommy
You know when I first saw the show i agreed with you, but none of those things are ever really touched upon and the show stays surprisingly apolitical given it's subject matter.
>flamboyant man wearing makeup with a sassy message written on his hand
That's Robert Sheehan and he's a great actor.
