J.C. Denton: the protagonist and player character of the beloved 2000 video game Deus Ex. It's a weird game in that it's incredibly ahead of its time and forward thinking in a way that puts most modern games to shame while also being a janky, buggy, dated hot mess of a game. Features some of the best dialogue ever written for a video game being delivered with some of the worst voice acting ever put into a video game. Also the plot is like an Alex Jones rant turned sentient.

It works though - the cyberpunk look is actually from the 70s and and 80s, and by the 90s, was incredibly outdated, cheesy and kitsch. That Denton looks like Neo helps characterize the original Deus Ex as a turn of the millennium game
