The character is supposed to be on a whole different level in the fantasy that is the show compared to the real world, he's not a "beta orbiter", he defends them because he simply wants to fuck them (and will, contrary to the beta). It's his way of dominating other men, cucking them out of all the women.

Fair enough, his oneitis still gets on my nerves, especially since Karen only becomes more and more of a cunt as the show goes on, Becca too. Also about Becca, who the fuck casted her? She can't act and she looks nothing like her supposed parents

my only issue with it is that it got really reptitive with him apologizing to his wife, getting her back, and then inevitably fucking it all up by screwing some other chick. that, and the last season fucking sucked.

Oh yeah totally with you on that, karen and becca were literally the worst parts of the show. And they just repeat the same shit over and over, hank being hank and his family losing their shit and being disappointed. Just fuck off already. We get that they're his anchor to the real world and to being an adult but they didn't need all the screen time they got, shitty acting and straight up unlikeable characters. The show was at its best when it played with hank & runkle.

Definitely, their bromance was great. If the show was just "Hank and Runkle go on wild adventures" it would have been so much better. Delete all of the baby momma drama and will-they-won't-they shit.

Also I think Season 4 is my favorite season, Runkle going full bachelor mode and Hank's being tried for rape, with his semen demon lawyer. That's the girl he should have married, fade to black end credits

Yeah, the showrunners partly misunderstood what the truly enjoyable parts of the show were.

Season 4 is arguably the last good season of the show. Dunno if it would make sense for mulder to end up with the lawyer, but the ending to that season was perfectly good as a series finale, his family goes away, he shoots the movie and fucks the actresses while pretending to remember his family, and just rides off into the sunset. They should've ended it there I think.
