I thought it was way better than season 2 but not exactly essential viewing. If they keep shitting them out I'll probably keep watching, it was ok.

But did you see how they had three parallel story lines in three different time periods? That totally makes up for the generic "kidnapping by a mourning mother who lost her own kid" snoozefest.

Not a Yank and I genuinely couldn't understand what the main character was saying half the time, all I could hear was a bassy mumble

I just hate the people acting like just because the show decided not to provide us with a traditionally satisfying ending for a 7-hour long crime investigation, it automatically becomes a good series about everything else it had.

There was no character development apart from one guy starting to like dogs, and Hays' and Amelia's relationship was just a bunch of scenes of them fighting over nothing, the memory subplot went nowhere and served no purpose until the very last episode. People say "oh you were expecting a pedophile ring ending!" like the fact it wasn't automatically makes all that terrible writing surrounding the investigation an Oscar-worthy drama piece.
