This was pretty good. I feel like Euronymous was probably more of an edgy dickhead IRL than he was in the movie, but I'm glad they didn't make him the righteous protagonist. Also, did Varg really fuck that many sluts?
This was pretty good. I feel like Euronymous was probably more of an edgy dickhead IRL than he was in the movie...
>did Varg really fuck that many sluts
didn't he have his first daughter with 14 or something?
Is that the one who has no contact with him/doesn't consider him a father anymore?
watch Once Upon a Time in Norway on youtube if you want to get a sense of what really happened compared to what was depicted in the movie.
It was terrible
Thanks, user. Is there a definitive, unbiased long-form essay or article to read about the early scene in Norway? I find it fascinating how a bunch of edgy kids could push each other to these lengths.
Terribly made, or terribly inaccurate? Both? I thought it was a competent movie, even if the acting was suspect in some parts. I can't speak to the authenticity, as all I know about this scene is what I've read on Wikipedia.
no, that would be his latest 6 months old daughter.
>ITT christcucks debating a jewish creation
Spotted the Vargtard
spotted the incel/roastie/faggot/tranny/redditor
The movie makes it seem like Euronymous was just aiming for attention and didn’t have the guts to do the dirty shit.
In reality he was just as edgy as the others, he was affiliated to the commie party in Norway and in fact that was one of the reasons he and Varg didn’t get along, since he was a Nazi.
I also doubt anyone really cared about Dead beyond him being the vocalist of the band, they were all sociopaths with no liking to each other, pretty much.
But I really liked how the movie sets the tone as a teenage story going on. They were just some stupid middle-upper class teenagers doing edgy shit, and when the real-world consequences started to affect them they couldn’t handle it.
>teenage story going on
That's what sucked me in when I watched it. I grew up an edgy metalhead, so the woods parties and hanging out at the record shop gave me mad nostalgia. My friends and I were thrashers though, so we just drank beer and acted like retards. None of that Satan shit.
"Until the Light Takes Us" is another good one, firsthand interviews with people that were really there
>the incel/roastie/faggot/tranny/redditor
But that would be the Vargtard.
They made euronymous look like a good guy. He was a piece of shit and when he got mur everyone in the black metal scene at the time was happy about it. Fuck this movie and fuck you.
I've heard people bitch about UTLTU for having a bias towards either Varg or Euronymous (can't recall which). Is that true? I'm harping on bias so much because I'm trying to form my own opinion of what happened. Just want to know how many grains of salt to take, and which way to take them. Also, is the doc "True Norwegian Black Metal" worth watching? I think that one's focused on Gaahl/Gorgoroth.
>True Norwegian Black Metal
I haven't seen that one.
>bias
I don't think so. It is all only interviews with no narration or extra shit so the only way they could skew it would be with editing and playing with context, but I didn't detect any of that. I feel like a lot of the OGs that they interview are probably sympathetic to Varg themselves since a lot of them disliked Euronymous in the first place, so the interviewees themselves might be biased, but again, they were all really physically there so it is all relevant no matter how they lean. I might be wrong, who knows, its worth a watch as far as I'm concerned.
Varg bias as Euronymous is obviously not alive to defend himself.
Still a good doc though.
Thanks lad, I'll check it out.
>I feel like Euronymous was probably more of an edgy dickhead IRL than he was in the movie
Fuck you very much.
>drove dead to suicide
>made necklaces from his skull
>took photos of a corpse, wanted to use it as an album cover
>admitted poisoning people
>was a manipulative bitch, took credit of everything
nah was just kidding lmao, total sweetheart
He was. Watch until the light takes us. Nobody liked him. Nobody.

It literally was like they read those Wikipedia articles and made a movie about it. I liked it tho
it only scratches the surface though
also
>that fag and his shitty art
>frost and his faggotry being the last third of it
id like proper doc about the few years that the mythos is based off of
>no based fenriz movie
>took photos of a corpse, wanted to use it as an album cover
From what I've seen, this is what set a lot of people against Euro. Varg was Varg and Euro was Euro and then the rest of the scene were simple rebellious teenagers who weren't ACTUALLY these hardcore partisan death lovers or whatever the fuck, and then Dead killed himself and that was very heavy and very "real life" shit for everybody, and Euro decides to edge out and take pictures and skull fragments, and the general sentiment in the scene was "what the fuck bro, our friend Per just killed himself, cut the shit for five seconds and have some reverence."
It seems pretty thorough, like I said they interview pretty much everybody, but I could be wrong, do you know a doc that goes deeper into it? I'm not saying it is the definitive doc or even that it stands on its own as a doc or anything, I'm saying if you're into that whole period and want to know more then it is on the must watch list at the very least.
Pretty stupid how they made euro and dead bffs for lyfe, when actually they fucking hated eachother to the point where dead wouldnt come out of his room at all when euro was around because he was a piece of shit
best guy

in the doc, when hes at the flea market
>oh testament!
the human incarnation of toki. ^_^
>know a doc that goes deeper
afraid not, did just find this on youtube though.
i hope to find more

it probably is the definitive doc, and it is a must watch, but like i said, the focus on the present day scene was a waste of time. id much rather an in depth dive into the founding years.
Ok, but now do one from vargs perspective
For the record, Burzum>>>>>Mayhem
I love Fenriz, he seems so genuine.
Why make a movie about a little shit who encouraged his friend to commit suicide? Why not make the movie about the guy from the other band who stabbed this edgy piece of shit to death 25 times and is now living a happy life with 9 children.
>11mins in
discussion of national socialism with varg. wonder why this got cut
>they made Varg into a big-butt goth boy
Honestly, back in the 90's, girls liked big-butt goth bois so if Varg really was one he probably got laid a lot.
did varg and euro double team that photographer broad in the basement of the record shop?
nothing is more of a second-hand embarrassment than a guy reaching his 40's and still dressing like that.
I grew out of the metal scene by my early 20s. Still like the music, but I just couldn't stand the pretention and the muh secret club aspect anymore.
This is the best norwegian black metal documentary you can find. Watched it awhile ago. Just a 10/10
Dead's suicide was pretty brutal to watch.
Darkthrone>first 5 burzum albums >>>powergap>>>mayhem
Wait until you find out euronymous probably did it
gonna need a sauce on that
Theres no actual source but its been speculated for a long time in communities.
Vargs youtube channel is the ramblings of a crazy person and i love it
