Malcolm in the Middle

I've been re-watching this for the first time in years and I think it still holds up pretty well. I'd be interested to see what Yea Forums thinks. does it get too wacky in later seasons?

It's pretty consistent overall. Only problems are that Francis doesn't get fuck all to do and the fifth kid was a very unneccessary addition.
It's a great show.

>that episode where Spangler shows up in Alaska saying he wants to kill himself
Life imitating kino

>does it get too wacky in later seasons?

To some degree, yes. The last couple seasons aren't as strong as the first few but still more than watchable and consistently funny.

Still my favourit show ever. There is not one bad episode in 7 seasons. I watch it every other year. Grew up with it and I still miss it to some extend.

hi frankie

Has anyone actually managed to calculate the families finances throughout the entire series?

started around -20.000USD, constantly lost so much more.

The Francis sections contain some of the funniest moments in the show imo.

life is a faire

My biggest problem by far with the later seasons is that francis goes back to being a slacker. Part of the fun of his stories was watching him grow.

In military school he is a troublemaker constantly going against authority. Then he gets a reality check about having "freedom" in Alaska. He rashly gets married and has to learn how to be in a real relationship. Then he goes to the dude ranch and matures further and becomes more responsible.

Now I understand behind the scenes the actor who played francis wanted a smaller acting role (and wanted to direct, etc), and the actor who played Otto had to leave the show, but turning him back into a slacker was just painful to watch. They could have easily come up with a much better storyline. Also, saying that Otto fired him as the reason him for leaving the ranch is equally bad. Otto is his friend and there is a whole episode prior where Otto cannot fire anyone.

The later episode where Malcolm is working with Lois and she is blindly following the rules and is smoking is the worst episode of the show. The one where Malcolm gets the job on stilts is bad too. And the one where Hal has a fight with a bee and is trying to ram into it with his car.

I never liked the show
I'm not a fan of shows that are relentlessly mean-spirited towards the main characters who don't deserve the amount of pain and strife the writers throw at them

Comedies getting too wacky in the later seasons always sucks desu. Hated the premise for the last season of Curb because it was just "Larry pisses off an entire country." Felt like it was overboard. That being said, Malcolm in the Middle keeps it fairly reigned in, and while the last two seasons aren't as strong as the rest, overall they're still reasonably good. Honestly, the show doesn't get nearly the amount of credit it should for maintaining such a consistent degree of quality throughout its entire time running. Genuinely impressive.

To be fair malcolm is kind of a prick as well

Rewatching it as an adult, the bit about Spangler being obsessed with doing a perfect song and dance routine for Oliver North was one of the funniest premises for an episode in the series.

I’d go as far as to say it’s the only sitcom with no objective bad episodes

YES

And the fact that the song was candyman for no reason.

This bothered me as well. Otto would sooner kill himself before he EVER fired Francis

Malcolm is deserving of a lot of the problems he has thrown at him though. He's an arrogant know it all with a flagrant inability to admit wrongdoing or take accountability, and the problems he has to deal with are often times caused by that. Same with any character in the show.

Tied the gag together really well. Any other aong wouldn't have been nearly as entertaining.

This show was unironically a huge psyop, infested with subliminal messages and themes.

Very cursed.

This. Like another user mentioned, there was an entire episode dedicated to Otto not being able to fire anyone, so him getting fired by Otto was really jarring. That being said, it's one flaw in an otherwise great show, so I personally give it a pass for it.

I wonder how much they had to pay off Reese's credit card debt after he moved out and maxed everything to pay for his own flat

Almost every single problem the characters have are directly their own fault.

Meant for

He's the middle one at home, and then becomes the middle one when Jaime comes.

>hisMontgomery, Ohio, apartment
>apartment
This is what you have to look forward to if you’re in the entertainment industry as a performer, actor, comedian, what-have-you. Spending decades barely scraping by, and dying alone and unnoticed in a shit-box apartment at old age

>He's the middle one at home
Not relevant. He's not the middle kid biologically and that's just wrong.
After Jamie then it's true.

Reminds me of another super-reputable, not-at-all larping deep state agent who posts on Yea Forums

God nu/pol/ fucking sucks. It went from a decent platform for discussion for the dissident right, among others, to autists larping as super secret agents or whatever the fuck who have unlocked the mystery of the universe. Am I the boss of you?

Ok

season 1 and 2 I can't watch anymore, they were great when I was younger. season 3~7 i still watch once in a while, and my top episodes are in 5, 6, and 7
>reese joins the army 3 parter
>if boys were girls
>malcolm gets a car

>The later episode where Malcolm is working with Lois and she is blindly following the rules and is smoking is the worst episode of the show.
I liked it. It showed the "homepersona/work persona" thing really good. Just because you're the house tyrant and raise your kids to always do the right thing doesn't mean you do that, too. Adhering to your own standards etc.

>who don't deserve the amount of pain and strife
But Malcolm deserves it, that's one of the endearing things. And as someone else already said, people get in trouble by their own making.

but she learned no lesson it was a Malcolm learning episode fuck that

Hal did nothing wrong

Yeah, why would she? Lois is too old to tread new paths. She's a completed human and stubborn as fuck on top of that.
We strive to be better than our parents, and Malcolm really needs that.

honestly, theres more instances where reese gets unjustifiably fucked over more than malcolm ever did, and then dewey gets shit on in a few episodes
>dat episode where dewey is better at music than malcolm so malcolm completely deafens him

That episode was OK for me. The episode i didn't like with Lois was the episode where the family gets stuck on the road and Lois tries to move something blocking the road with a crane. The message of the episode was that Lois can't control everything in her life which felt stupid since she always knew that and only controled her family. Why did she have to act like a lunatic and try to move something off the road. It was out of character and felt like they needed her to act like a cartoon.

>the episode where the car crashes on the road
>Lois tries hard to get her way by arguing
>nobody listens to her
>she ends up getting mad cause someone locked a dog in the car with the windows rolled up
>gets mad and breaks the car window
>dogs get mad and ends up attacking her

Greatest sitcom

He's an only child according to wikipedia. My guess is one of the home improvement kids

>Rewatching a mediocre kids' show from 20 years ago
Do you really have nothing better to do

Sorry you're mom was taken

Almost finished with her, you're next bro

That episode is the most out of character Lois has ever been.

>constantly threads about Malcolm in the middle
>constantly threads about Dragon Ball
>constantly threads with Simpsons references and Mexican graffiti
Yep, this board is full of spics.

it was bryan cranston, right

Haven't watched this in quite a while.
Some random episodes I recall
>Reese making Thanksgiving dinner
>Hot babysitter who Francis didn't bully
>Francis eating challenge (don't remember what it was exactly)
>Prom night with 3 girls
>Malcom and the asthma kid getting lost in the sewer
>Malcom getting revenge on his fellow nerds
>Lois gets into an accident (my favourite)

He died?
What in the god damn, when?

I think it was a fairly early episode too.

Can you repeat the question?

we play malcolm and hate jews at cytu be cumbox channel

Attached: 3lq62Xr.jpg (1066x600, 64K)

Will WW3 happen within 5 years?

Will I get back in a band soon enough ?

>“kids” show
You gain a whole new level of respect for the show when you teach adulthood

Bullshit I know you're lying because I can hear her and my stepdad in the other room right now, ha I win again fag

>implying doing user's mom is better than watching Meetmuh

The first few seasons were extremely comfy

I would LOVE to suck off Malcolm or Reese. Gawd damn especially Reese.

Glorious exposition comrade

Haram

reese is actually a faggot irl, he might let you

Francis got character assassinated in the later seasons cause they didn't know what to do with him anymore.

he grew up? what did you mean by thus

His arc was finished and having grown into a responsible adult with a family he wasn't funny anymore so they reversed his character growth turning him back into a loser who doesn't take responsibility.

i love malcolm in the middle becayse the jews HATE it. they can not stand seeing a white family make it and survive in the 21st century, ESPECIALLY with black neighbors who like them

He didn't.

I always wondered why they had given hhim that ending, I can't imagine Otto firing Francis for good, was it really necessary to add that explanation in the last episode?

I love the one with the silts
>do you want me to kiss your ass and call it ice cream
>craig yelling at him 'you're a ghost old man nobody can hear you'

They reversed the reverse last episode though. Implying he's been actually just like hal for a while now with a stable boring job he enjoys. But he's just been acting more like a fuck up around lois so she doesn't get any satisfaction.

A SEX O FENDER I CANNOT BELIEVE YOUUUU

>Francis eating challenge (don't remember what it was exactly)
Peeps. They ate so many peeps they had pink discoloration all over their faces and hands.

they were quacks

>Dewey closing himself in the cotton candy garage
>Malcolm discovering Cynthia has boobs
>Hal rollerskating
>Frances taking care of Ida

>that episode where they imply women want or deserve respect
dropped

Name a single bad episode

Didn't the cops have to take him down like a wild animal though?
Seems like it is showing him as a deranged nut.

That episode was great, kys

Like when he goes to get the ball off some old hag's property and gets assaulted. Then the typical mary sue mother comes in and magically make it seem like he did anything wrong at all.

The clip show episode, those are always shit.
Other than that I agree. Literally none of the others were bad.
I don't think any other show has kept it's quality this well.

the whole point is that they didn't actually respect women, and only slightly did at the end. Genuinely think it was funny teen perspective.

Also funny how things change, like super sjw libfems are all for hypersexualisation of women because it's "empowering" whereas the women in the episode are against it.

>Malcolm gets revenge on his fellow nerds
Which episode is this?

>like super sjw libfems are all for hypersexualisation
Where? Certainly not in the US. They HATE the female body, as long as it's not hideously deformed.

jews enjoy that sort of morbid content.

Yes in the US? I'm from the UK though.
>slut walks
>"sex work is work"
>calling themselves sluts/whores as a form of empowerment
>obsession with porn
>hypersexualisation but "I do it for ME"

Idk see this:
independent.co.uk/voices/feminism-liberal-womens-rights-fourth-wave-slut-walks-sex-misogyny-patriarchy-a8424536.html

When Malcom buys a car and tries to fix it up

He sleeps in the middle between Reese and Dewey.

The whole he's an alcoholic, but doesn't drink was funny.

>next time, you take them!

Attached: bowling.jpg (492x329, 37K)

The episode where the Mother tells Malcom to regect a scholarship so he has to keep working as a janitor on the same place hes studying or something (can remember perfectly).
That soured the series for me.
That shit was crawbucket as fuck.
And the fucker agress with her.

Well, at least that's better than that shitty neopuritanism the mutts practice.
I mean, sluts donna slut. And frankly, I also think being a hooker is an actual job. There are worse ways you sell your body and lifetime.
However, kids should be kept away from porn, or at least should know the facts of life, lest they ruin their butt with a group buttsex party or shit like that.
I see no harm in EDUCATED people doing what they like without hurting anyone.

Or when the drug lab people show up to Reece's party and they don't even consider calling the cops.

Roof Catapult was kino tough.

Fair enough. There's so much abusive, psychological damage, danger and actual dis-empowerment in sex work imho.

youtu.be/2ySxSSzJKd0

It gets weaker around season 5 when they start trying to make Dewey the replacement main character. But it never really gets bad and the finale is great.

Just uttering "they deserve it" without any actual evidence or examples. This show is terrible in how it makes terrible people mary sues and how it makes good people magically bad.

Yeah well, women are dumb, but if they get healthcare from it and such, why not?
Although I think the women demonstrating for that are rather not those who are abused.

Knowing the full hidden lore of the show makes it hard to watch.

Attached: frankiemunez.jpg (1200x630, 70K)

They were going to, but Lois lied about Dewey being sick so they got trapped and got them when they were sleeping

He doesn't remember it right? And the actor who played Dewey was molested? Is this confirmed?

Malcolm is an arrogant douche. Remember the episode where he meets that chess player in the park? That is EXACTLY where Malcolm will end if he doesn't get his shit together. Malcolm wants to socialize, but resents people. He has the brains to be successful, but he sabotages himself by alienating everyone who could do something good for him. Remember when he was jealous of Dewey because he didn't have the same musical understanding? Remember the nigger janitor episode? That is Malcolm being exactly like Lois and it's not doing him good. But instead of learning from it, he continues his way.
Or when he gets gastric bleeding because he just has no chill.
There are certainly more examples, but I haven't watched the show in years, this is just what stuck.

i can't stand later dewey, there's one where he's writing an opera and it's just so second hand embarassingly bad. there's also the ones with hayden pantierre or whatever as the babysitter which i don't like except for the one where she makes malcolm and reese thing each other are gay
>what's this?
>naughty pool boys 3. i had to watch a lot of these and i think you're going to like this one

oh he remembers alright he remembers it all

Attached: ok now msile .webm (640x360, 1.56M)

basicly ye
I think the only reason why he doesn't remember it is not even the stroke but him repressing it.

S2E01

He got a job offer that Lois rejected for him that would have started at six figures I think? Just as he was graduating? but because he finally got a break in life he's not allowed to have it. his parents were too stupid to quit having kids and he's suffering for it. Lois explanation is
>you're going to be the president so you can give a shit about people like us
she means niggers. niggers who have too many kids, who fight with police, neglect everything that isn't sex or complaining

>that episode where the family finds out malcolm was given $10,000, argue over themselves how it should be spent and end up wasting it
this show is a huge redpill on poor people

He does seem to have worked on most of those issues by the last episode though since he does become a janitor so he can go to college

That was the last episode, I think. It wasn't a scholarship. He basically got a job offer and he would skip college if he accepted it. The dumb part was the whole one day Malcolm is gonna be president, and everybody acting that their style of raising children was some kind of plan and Malcolm was meant to suffer.

No, I don't remember any of those episodes. You didn't explain anything at all. I deliberately mention nobody actually coming up with examples and you have just made vague references to episodes assuming I remember every minute of the show.

They did such a good job at making that episode touching only to have that reveal in the end with Francis trying to convince Lois she is an alcoholic. It was the perfect set up to that punchline.

>"You dont have to be drink to be an alcoholic"

>assuming I remember every minute of the show.
THEN WHY THE FUCK DO YOU EVEN TRY TO DISCUSS YOU TREMENDOUS FAGGOT EVERYBODY HERE KNOWS WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT JUST FUCK RIGHT OFF YOU STUPID CUNT

Francis has an historial of shit so if they call cops he was most fucked than those guys.
Also the girl who Malcolms invite to fuck and ends corrupted fucking one of the other guys is hot as fuck.

Great episode

It's impossible to understand what you're writing.

Take it easy. You literally could have just clarified any of your vague references, assuming they even support your point in the first place.

Am I a big enough guy (for you) ?

The one time I really hate Malcolm was when when he records Reese's secret tree (or something) that he confines in Malcolm about, for Mr Herkabe - who shows the whole class and embarrasses him (although Malcolm doesn't know this). There is redemption when he finds the file on everyone else's secrets and reads it over the speaker phone. episode was called malcolm films reese.

I'm starting to agree with this after trying to decipher what they're saying.

Don't remember. But the basic premise was Malcom and his genius classmates together decided not to work hard for their grades for a new teacher. Malcom was the only one who didn't do anything for the first assignment and all his friends betrayed him. The rest of the episode is how he gets back at them by working extra hard to get A+++++ grades

Which one do you think had the bigger dick?

>that episode where they wasted Malcolm's scholarship money

Stop pretending

Lois is literally a white nigger ( I think she's even of Croatian origin canonically).
>have a chance to better yourself and everyone around you
>naw u finna be guverment nigga so we get mo money fo dem programs
>chimps out at the droo of a hat
>literally cannot stop popping out niglets she can't afford

Honestly Hal's family was right, even if they did it in the most backhanded bitch manner.

Yeah but Lois was a Mary Sue in that one episode who magically changed Hal's fundamental psychological behaviour, turning him from a rebel to the nicest guy ever. Checkmate.

Kino Francis moment youtube.com/watch?v=pU-uZztJEcQ

>Retard looking for (you)'s begone

he looks confused, like he lost his memory or something

americans ruined /pol/

To be fair WASP men are easily pussywhipped.

Yeah, by Bryan Cranston
Bryan Cranston used to bring him home and sleep in the same bed as him and give him what he called 'jesus juice'

Bryan made him suck his nipples too.

Weird. That was like the only episode where it was really sjw kek

>That episode where Malcom makes the family in the Sims and they all end up at the pinnacle of greatness while he's a 400 pound slob

/At the end of the episode the boys (Dewey and Malcolm) ridule Reese for laughing at non binary women and all that sjw shit. Go rewatch it. The sjw women are the enlightened ones and the boys learn that there are more than 2 genders and it's all relative.

>Remember the nigger janitor episode
Are you talking about the episode where Lois takes down the cardboard display of the janitor cuz it's offensive? If so, you're wrong. Malcolm says it's not offensive and he's proven right at the end when an actual black janitor shows up with a beer in his hand kek

I still love the part in the episode where they talk about the worst thing they ever did, and how it led to them each having a nuclear option that could take all the brothers down

He only does that to oppose his mother. And he himself says it's offensive.

Does she love me?

It's funny how Francis is a combination of the other three and is a natural leader but is also a huge slacker and a rebel

rewatched the whole thing a couple years ago, the first 3-4 seasons are literally perfect and
