the theatrical version is
i still don't think there has been a better orwellian film than this
how did George Lucas manage to make the most Kubrickian movie ever that Stanley Kubrick never made?
kino
YES
he's always been good at visuals
makes me sad that no zoomer will ever watch this film because they'll think it's too old
I already get upset at millennial fuckwits who refuse to watch anything made before 2000
>I already get upset at millennial fuckwits who refuse to watch anything made before 2000
lmao, why does it bother you when other people don't watch movies?
youtube.com
I bet 99% of Yea Forums has never seen this film
I love it.
I think Lucasfilm should remake it. Theres a lot of room to expand.
so that's where it came from
it makes me angry that masterpieces are ignored, but they'll all rush to watch mindless shit like captain marvel
uncultured empty headed animals
I want to know what he saw!!!
THX can be a series of films.
he'd add tiny cgi aliens that jump up and down like muppets.
is this the movie with the masturbation machine? because i don't remember anything else from it.
I didnt say Lucas should remake it - I said Lucasfilm. George wouldn't be involved. I mean by the time it actually happens he'll probably be dead anyway.
fuck all, it was a wasteland, but at least he was free . Is it better to live as a slave or die as a free man?
well he got pussy living as slave so...
>I think Lucasfilm should remake it. Theres a lot of room to expand.
only if lucas is involved
with the way #metoo is going and millennials scared of global warming, we're going to end up all herded into mega cities run by robots for our own 'good', and sex is banned
youtube.com
lucas knew
lite-Orwell but still great.
I love how he breaks out easily, the society he lives in grown so fucking complacent those people are literally bred to wagecuck.
first time I watched this was such a fucking feeling. The Special Edition blurs the fuck out of the scene though, I don't understand why.
get the grindhouse version, it's from an old shitty Italian print but it's the real deal
No it was lame
didn't Lucas already add CGI ?
Blessings of the state.
There were birds flying around man, he probably survived, maybe died lonely or stumbled some folks
...
the director's cut already added cg stuff and it was fine
yes, they collect it and grow people in artificial wombs
I don't think it was a wasteland. I think there was a civilization out there. There should've been a ship or two flying through the sun in the final shot.
Captain Marvel might be a masterpiece
The Stunt guy that flung himself off the bike shot is so fucking good.
Lucas should get off his ass and release the outtakes of that scene, I want to see it from every angle possible
>Kubrickian
The whole chase scene is good. The shots of duvall in the cockpit - glass and lights and speed. Good stuff.
>grow up seeing the big THX logo before every movie
>only ever find out it's based on a movie when I read Walter Murch's book (famous editor, guy who wrote the screenplay)
So glad I did. Lucas really had it before he became the "Star Wars" guy
do you not know how to screenshot?
You might be thinking of "A Boy and his Dog"
en.wikipedia.org
Which was kino.
You prolly couldn’t get away making a film like this today.
Globalist shill media would stop people from seeing it or obstruct it’s production.
He was supposed to direct Apocalypse Now, which would've been interesting.
youtube.com
NPCs torture a human for not taking his ritalin and looking at a girl
He was already nominated for best director and best picture for American Graffitti - which he made to prove a point because critics said THX had no heart and that Lucas was incapable of heart. But, yeah, he wasnt struggling before Star Wars.
The best part was the sound of the bikes, something about making the sound out of knives and women screaming. I also love When the film randomly cuts to computers bleeping or numbers flashing across the screen with no geography to where they are.
I love this movie. Gonna rewatch it after this thread.
You can make any film you want today.
Tell that to mike judge
I've had this one sitting for half a decade on my HDD and I only got it because I love Harlan Ellison and was into his science fiction short stories back in the day, not so much now.

THX gets Amazon Alexa in his shoebox
Ok I will. Where is he?
If you have the money, and are willing to lose it, you can make anything. Now if you're not willing to risk your own money then you might have problems.
>actors won't work with you because you're low budget amateur scum and might not agree with things on the script
>money people won't put a dime on the project because you don't have any distribution company in because literally all of them are gone and the only ones that are there are the big studios'
>if you put it on Youtube literally no one will watch it, they'll watch 2 hour long podcast but no fucking way they'll watch an amateur film there
>you won't even make money out of that because youtube will pull some copyright strike on some piece of music that was supposed to be royalty free
>DUDE JUST FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS AND MAKE A MOVIE LMAO
youtube.com
>DUDE WHY DON'T YOU JUST WASTE YOUR MONEY AND MAKE A MOVIE TO FUCK YOU OVER, ESPECIALLY NOW THAT YOU'RE ALMOST AN OUTCAST IN THE INDUSTRY
can't find the theatrical cut anywhere
just wait a while til blockchain media distribution bypasses the gatekeepers
Bet you never saw anything made before the 2910s you hypocrite.
naah you'd just need a strong female lead and neutered male characters. Then in would be equals, the kstew movie.
Recite your baseline.
>"And blood-black nothingness began to spin... A system of cells interlinked within cells interlinked within cells interlinked within one stem... And dreadfully distinct against the dark, a tall white fountain played."
Cells.
>Cells.
Have you ever been in an institution? Cells.
>Cells.
Do they keep you in a cell? Cells.
>Cells.
When you're not performing your duties do they keep you in a little box? Cells.
>Cells.
Interlinked.
>Interlinked.
What's it like to hold the hand of someone you love? Interlinked.
>Interlinked.
Did they teach you how to feel finger to finger? Interlinked.
>Interlinked.
Do you long for having your heart interlinked? Interlinked.
K: Interlinked.
Interrogator: Do you dream about being interlinked... ?
>Interlinked.
What's it like to hold your child in your arms? Interlinked.
>Interlinked.
Do you feel that there's a part of you that's missing? Interlinked.
>Interlinked.
Within cells interlinked.
>Within cells interlinked.
Why don't you say that three times: Within cells interlinked.
>Within cells interlinked. Within cells interlinked. Within cells interlinked.
I have it but I looked up and all links are gone, there is a version on archive.org but it seems to be just the laserdisc version while the one I have is an HD Transfer from a theatrical print
nvm found it
I talked to the guy that made it and he only shares this link in secret, some people uploaded it to MEGA and put it on reddit but it got shitcanned, I got it from the source.
No but at least we got a hype sample for an awesome song out of it.
>I am the voice inside your head...
I haven't seen the new blade runner
Thanks. I wish these fan scans/restorations would show up on the public internet more often. Apparently all the interesting stuff is on Myspleen which hasn't had an invite/registration period for a long time.
you should.
Bump
NuBladerunner is some pedestrian garbo.
It's the reason why I don't like going to originaltrilogy so often
Supposedly these guys have gotten ahold of so many fucking 35mm and 70mm prints of Star Wars they basicaly did a restoration that looks better than the official one and yet there's no download for it and the scraps are mainly used in Harmy's Despecialized Edition
Also, not just Star Wars, but several other films, I actually don't know how many because it's depressing knowing that these nerds have so much shit stored that they won't release, my main object of attention right now is a legit scan of StarChaser The Legend of Orin where they actually got a hold of a 3D Print.
They probably have raw unfucked versions of Disney classics, goddamn.
Daily reminder that Star Wars is garbage and ruined George's career. If those pieces of shit never got made: George would have been a respected and near legendary director. Instead he is now known for killing and dumbing down Cinema
Literally only NPCs think otherwise
never used onedrive before. what is this?
Thanks
works for me
it's the Microsoft equivalent of Google Drive
They usually upload on MySpleen which is a public tracker and doesn't allow invites anymore, they're thinking of moving to another tracker.
Luckily, a complete bro always gives me MEGA links
This
the movie that breaks mike "fanboy" stoklasa into pieces
That's fucking cool
What do you have? off the top of your head, or is it just star wars stuff?
I got 4K83, 4K77, ESB Grindhouse Single Pass Regrade and a recreation of the US Cut of The Good The Bad And The Ugly using the italian Mondo Blu-Ray. There is also a guy restoring The Good The Bad And The Ugly using an actual film print but that one isn't out yet.
What was with that jerkoff machine?
in the theatrical cut it was just an orange glowy thing over his crotch, George lucas added a CGI milker there
>George would have been a respected and near legendary director
he was, until episode I
>Instead he is now known for killing and dumbing down Cinema
jaws and starwars were responsible for creating the blockbuster film, and the prequels and advances in CG tech (mostly pioneered by lucas' ILM) laid the groundwork for the shitty nerd capeshit culture that exists now
so indirectly yes
on the other hand he's done plenty to advance cinema tech standards, pioneer digital effects and digital editing, preserve film (except his own) and lucasarts were dabbling in some very creative multimedia projects until the mid-late 90s, they even did an MMO in 86
Anything Disney? I remember some guy talking about how he got ahold of a 1950's vinyl release of the soundtrack and it sounds much better than the fantasound masters and has bits of the original Deems Taylor recordings they re-dubbed
any 4K77 screencaps?
pornhub machine steals your seed, then they grow offspring for the colony when needed
it'll probably happen irl in the 2030s
Never seen theatrical. The one available is pretty lame. The only true Lucas kino is American Graffiti
they have a song of the south film print as well or they did haven't been on in year and half
They probably did a quick pass
I have a version of Song of the South that looks like it could've been an official DVD release from 2000 or something, is it anything like that?
>Anything Disney?
No
>any 4K77 screencaps?
I'm sorry but my roommate accidentally dropped the hard drive it was on. Still, it was largely pretty shit color-wise and it had less detail than the Blu-Ray. 4K83 (which I do still have) is alot better mainly because they used a print struck directly from the original negative
scientificamerican.com
since women don't want to be mothers anymore, and instead lgbt want to be mothers, this will become a thing
the communist party won

dont forget to watch your captain marvel
o fugg, forgot to turn off subtitles before taking the cap
why can't i download this
didn't he practically almost die from that stunt?
fuck that actually looks pretty nice
I grew up with the special editions so it's always weird to see vader with Eyebrows, it looks shopped.
for Star Wars I had the Silver Screen version which is from a 35mm print and it's a shame that film has so many color problems, SW being in danger of being lost was actually always a thing since 1997.
The guy was fine, the crew all rushed in after he crashed and he got all pissed off thinking they ruined the shot
>I grew up with the special editions
Fucking zoomers
Are you looking for 4K77? I have a few Mega links for those. Is there a version from pic related you want?
it was 2004 man, my VCR fucking died, and I wasn't really too interested in the vintage VHS versions of the OT they had at the video store especially since my uncle gave me the 2004 boxset as a birthday present even though I only owned The Phantom Menace on VHS, I had watched Attack of the Clones on VHS before but I didn't get it
still won't work every time i click download nothing happens
the 6GB version will do

Enjoy user. I can look for ESB and RotJ also.
>I exceeded my sharing fee
Now I know why no one uses microsoft's pleb drive
if you're getting that kind of message then probably log in after.
I may actually upload it to my Mega, if it doesn't take too long
Here's a Mega version for people getting the middle finger from Onedrive.
mega nz/#!N6o3XBya!1aS4lcIsLvi7Sk4B07l1kd5RQS3d_HkCldHLcrDJ6EQ
Thanks, is there anything preventing you from sharing all the links at once? because I wouldn't mind having a notepad file with all of them just in case these people drop off the earth like the THX 1138 guy did
he had eyebrows in the 1997 special edition
they only removed them in the 2004 special edition and totally fucked up the colors of the whole trilogy, then kept making worse changes for the blu ray release
fuck no
No reason other than it's just tedious to copy and paste them all. But I'll make a pastebin and post it soon.
Based user.
I forgot to mention, an example of people dropping off is The Thief and the Cobbler guy, who actually introduced the Team Negative One guy (which is a german guy named Helge Berndhalt) who built his own film scanner that they used to transfer Star Wars, problem being that the Thief guy halfassed his restoration of The Thief, is holding back on the footage and his forum just disappeared, I managed to save some stuff but it's nearly nothing.
I didn't think it was too good. The sound design is rubbish btw. Fuckin does my head in and not in an artsy way.
Yeah this is fantastic
Since we're talking about fan-edits used to visit these fanedits community sites where they would get interviewed and awarded for literally cutting out a scene out of Alien or mushing together Superman 1 and 2 to make a ''more serious'' cut by taking out Ned Beatty
But then you go see the profile, look for download links, and there is none. only photoshop mock ups of the covers they made for their cool new editions of LOTR the Two Towers or Blade Runner. I never understood that. I myself did some fanedits back in my day and no one interviewed me
what´s the name of the site?
forum.snahp.it
It's the successor of /r/megalinks and I'm really sorry to say registrations closed just a couple days ago.
oh it´s a private tracker, don´t worry, i don´t like those type of sites anyway
does this have a search function or something? I wonder if there's dvd images for Cannibal the Musical and Orgazmo there
Fucking spit out my drink, what a lad.
Here are all the Star Wars links I found (no ESB, maybe that one hasn't been completed yet) for anyone interested.
All the edits themselves are on private trackers (Myspleen is the one I've heard is the most-used). But the details of the edits are all available to anyone.
I see rips but no image files.
Thanks, you're a gift
No this came from a hard rock band in the 70s called Granicus. Google 'granicus hard rock' youll see
Fuck I want an account now.
There isn't a whole lot of "rare" stuff there. It's just people uploading movies, TV shows, etc. from retail releases. The only reason this cool Star Wars stuff is on the site is because it's Star Wars. None of the dozens of great projects you see advertised on Original Trilogy or Fanres are there.
But I have a search tool for the original megalinks subreddit (which has since been b&) and I'm sure plenty of the links work if you're looking for a general movie download link repository.
www25.zippyshare.com
it's gonna take a while for me to download that dolphin porn but thanks anyway.
Is there any real reason why most dvd image download sites use fucking obscure filehosts that paywall the file or ask your credit card information to try a free trial? Shit's irritating
I don't think I've seen any sites that totally lock down a file behind a paywall unless it's really, really large.
Some filehosts offer "premium" accounts that let you monetize the links. Some people -- assholes -- will buy one of these premium accounts and split the files into chunks so that someone has to click on each individual link to get the file, and each click gets the person who shared them a few pennies here and there. They do this instead of uploading somewhere like Mega which is more convenient for everyone. Only obscure, shitty filehosts do that link-monetization thing so maybe that's why you only find ISOs there.
what a shame. I pity the poor russian and german kids who did all that just to download the 3disc Imperial Edition of Caligula
>crew fears for his life
>he fears for the shot
Based
I love how legit this is, oh my god
They tried making it seem like Vader's saber went through Ben Kenobi by superimposing his cape over
This literally happened already.
Excuses
So what is the password for a lot of these links?
Aren't the original pages telling you the passwords? If not, try just 'megalinks' as the password.
Occasionally if you see random strings you have to go to base64decode.org to get the plaintext.
just did it thanks, I was confused because I didn't realize at first these are old reddit links
holy shit this is a blessing.
uploading this to mega for posterity since I just remembered that Zippyshare links expire after like a month. Hello to anyone in the archive.
