Nah, the last episode reached TNG levels, I'd say.

If you mean horrid season one TNG, maybe.

That's being kind.

The next generation wasn't exactly great.

The Alara home planet episode, and the baby sex change episodes were actually good.

The Kaylon homeworld episode and invasion episode were absolutely trash.

>The Kaylon homeworld episode and invasion episode were absolutely trash.
shit taste, I bet you're a waifufag

I am not. The whole concept of Mercer taking the ship and crew into that situation was retarded. The concept of the Kaylons to begin with is retarded. It was not a good parody of TOS alien design, it just looked bad.

yeah, s02

Another ripped off plot, this time Voyager - Prototype.

Strongly disagree. I’d say it’s on par with early TNG. Still finding its footing a bit but S2 has been mostly good. Only episode I wasn’t a huge fan of was the first contact episode, though I did like the interactions with Bortus and Kelly.

You need more than space battles to reach TNG levels

How often are people held hostage or trapped for hours in television without a restroom? Orville has the pee corner. They would never have a pee corner on the Enterprise-D, Picard would probably make them hold it. That's why Mercer is best captain.

In a vacuum it’s a mediocre show. In context as a guilty pleasure show its 9/10. Having two Star Trek doctors fight each other is too kino.

To be honest, the whole Kaylon envoy being allowed to serve on a ship and learn all their secrets before the Kaylon even officially join the Union was kind of a dumb situation to begin with. They were way too trusting, but I get they probably were desperate to get the Kaylon on their side because of the Krill.

it's a good show but they leave too many plot holes
I'd love to love it but they really need to tighten up the writing

Yes, and you'd think a society as advanced as the Union would understand the massive threat a society like the Kaylons would be.

It’s Star Trek, they always assume aliens are benevolent

upvoted

what the fuck is "Star Trek"?

The Union is leftist

>Pissing is a cultural benchmark
>Heterosexual relations are punishable by law
>A race that of superhumans choose to live as scholars
>A technologically advanced society still has backwards-logic
>Simulated sex is not considered cheating, but porn
>Isaac acts like a dick
How did the Orville get so good?

lol

>the captain is the straight man
>the captain is played by anyone else than Seth MacFarlane
>no quips, serious moments are serious, funny moments happen by themselves
There, I fixed the show.

>DESIGNATED PISSING CORNERS
Seriously, the absolute fucking state of bi*l*gical lifeforms!

AHHHHHHHHHHH

Just imagine the absolute gent that is Anson Mount's Pike in command of the Orville, it'd be perfect.

Then it would be too much like TNG I imagine.
Also Seth had to tell Fox he was about to make Family Guy in space or else they would never have greenlit it. It has since become more serious imo.

>hating based Seth
The show literally only exists because Seth wants to play Star Trek. If he wasn't playing the Captain all his enthusiasm and passion would be gone, he wouldn't give a shit anymore.
