There was a fire inside the hull of the HMS Titanic during construction that went unnoticed for many hours, I'm talking double digits. They didn't replace the section of the ship that was exposed to the smoldering flames. The structural integrity of the iron was compromised before the ship was even berthed. It was doomed from the start. Dubbing a ship unsinkable is like tying the noose yourself. There was a German container ship they called unsinkable. It was hit by a gargantuan rogue wave which ripped the thing open. Sunk in its maiden voyage. Titanic has 2 sister ships, I think they also sunk.
