I legit had no idea the show was still going on.

He was taken off the island by his dad and there were others with powers

I’m rewatching it all. Other than a few cinematic moments (aided by the great score), the show hasn’t aged well. It’s very ‘network television’. You can see that almost everything is dictated by the producers meeting an episode quota each season.

It ended 9 years ago.

Having watched it at the time, it turned to shit in season 4. The Constant (the most overrated episode) happened then and not much else. It's a good test of intelligence to see people defend it all the way to the end (which is what happened at the time and continues to happen in retrospect).

This. In fact on my rewatch I kept thinking how appropriate it would be if MiB was revealed to be the good guy.
